DannO's posting of Woody's "Deportees" got me sucked into YouTube again. Thanks, Danno! I love wandering there.

Love that song. I used to sing it to my (then) young niece and nephew. Thanks, BB!

Wow! That is just beautiful, gail. You really don't have to be baptized to enjoy it. That's some of the most amazing photography I've ever seen.

Well, since we are writing country-AND-western songs and Lefty Frizzell's name was mentioned, I figured we oughta listen to this one:

I don't recognize the music, BB. It's fun and i love when they get the cameras high enough to really see the action.

Enjoyable to watch.
BoatBabe, how do you get the videos into your post? I know how to copy and paste the url, but it would be nice to "take it to the next level."

So, you already know how to go to youtube, copy the url and paste it here, right? Like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IpEnsdXwFMAfter you paste the url, if you highlight it (drag your cursor over the line and turn it blue,) then go up to the left side above the first smiley face, click on "Tube" in the red box. It will automatically put the brackets around your url, and when you preview your reply or post your reply, it will look like this:

Since Christmas we have instituted a Music Hour every afternoon at 5. That's a little early for those of you working and probably you can't do it every day - even we can't always - but I highly recommend it. No jumping up to check the washer or something on the stove, just music. Sometimes Jerry does a crossword puzzle and I flip through a magazine, but mostly we just listen (the way we do every Saturday night with GK). One night it's Springsteen, another is Chopin, then the Chad Mitchell Trio (yup - I'd forgotten their gorgeous voices and harmonies). One night Jerry got all exercised about a Bach CD that was "totally wrong" which set him off to find better CDs. He found one with E. Power Biggs playing toccatas and fugues on the 4! organs of Frieburg Cathedral. I've looked everywhere for a picture showing the interior with all 4 organs, but no luck so far. Library Lady??? Anyway, we're now on a quest to find what Jerry remembers as the perfect version of Leonard Cohen"s "Hallelujah." Cohen's own version isn't it. We bought a CD of Jeff Buckley, whose cover won all kinds of praise, but we didn't like it. I've heard KD Lang and even Renee Flemming, still not right. The closest we've come is Rufus Wainwright. Do any of you have a suggestion? Here's Rufus: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR0DKOGco_o

Meijer Gardens has a great line up of music this summer...kd lang, elvis costello, steve martin, lyle lovett, garrison keilor, mary chapin carpenter, buddy guy and many more. And the cheapest ticket for any of them is $47. I'm certainly not poor, but I can't afford that, and for Bill and I to both go would be impossible. (The ticket to see Garrison is $70.)

I like the Leonard Cohen version, but I googled the tune and got a few other performers besides the ones you mentioned:
John Cale Paramore Bamboo Justin Timberlake Kate Voegele
Agreed, those are pricey tickets Jane. Possibly they have a discount for buying a series of 3 or 5 concert tickets? Down in the valley, the Musical Instrument Museum has a wonderful concert series, and it if less per ticket if you buy tickets for several shows.

Sounds like a great musical lineup, Jane! We couldn't begin to see anyone that famous for twice that money.
