Here is an earlier version, with science going out of fashion:

… I'll bet some of those Christian folks are having a melt-down over the "Jesus said, "My wife . . . ' " in that tiny newly-found papyrus strip. No doubt there are. And there are others who realize that this proves nothing and is just another bit of the heresies that were floating around at the time.

Joe, I should send you a copy of Ken's Guide to the Bible ..... or maybe not. Heresies are in the eye of the beholder. I'm not an atheist but I'm certain you'd call me a heretic. I had an awfully hard time making out the lyrics on the atheists' songs, so if anyone can find printed words I'd appreciate it. And I really needed the second versipon of Kate's song, because the first was unintelliglible. I don't whine a lot about my hearing, at least I hope not, but something has happened since my trip to Michigan. It's really frustrating. I'm taking an antibiotic and a steroid but only some symptoms are getting better. Hearing is not. So we've only done loud and fun music on our Music Hour (no Traumerei, BB). Last night was Dusty Springfield. Any other suggestions?

Science is real From the Big Bang to DNA Science is real From evolution to the Milky Way I like the stories About angels, unicorns and elves Now I like the storiesAs much as anybody else But when I'm seeking knowledge Either simple or abstract The facts are with science The facts are with science Science is real Science is real Science is real Science is real From anatomy to geology Science is real From astrophysics to biology A scientific theory Isn't just a hunch or guess It's more like a question That's been put through a lot of tests And when a theory emerges Consistent with the facts The proof is with science The truth is with science Science is real Science is realScience is real Science is real

Here's this one for you, Gail. Sorry to hear about your hearing!
NaCl (SODIUM CHLORIDE) Kate McGarrigle, Garden Court Music ASCAP
Just a little atom of chlorine Valence minus one Swimming thru the sea, digging the scene Just having fun She's not worried about the shape or size Of her outside shell It's fun to ionize Just a little atom of Cl With an unfilled shell
But somewhere in that sea lurks Handsome Sodium With enough electrons on his outside shell Plus that extra one Somewhere in this deep blue sea There's a negative For my extra energy yes Somewhere in this foam My positive will find a home
Then unsuspecting Chlorine Felt a magnetic pull She looked down and her outside Shell was full Sodium cried "what a gas be my bride and I'll change your name from Chlorine to Chloride"
Now the sea evaporates to make the clouds For the rain and snow Leaving her chemical compounds in the abscence Of H2O But the crystals that wash upon the shore Are happy ones So if you never thought before Think of the love that you eat When you salt your meat Think of the love that you eat When you salt your meat

From yesterday's show, John Fullbright is quite the musician! I'm glad for the introduction:

Well, apparently we only got Dad, Jack, and daughter, Molly Tuttle yesterday because it was a Duet Show.
That's a whole family of musicians there!

Apparently husband and wife team, Brian and Kaija Bonde, play in a very popular band called East of Westreville, and they are wonderful! Kaija has a lot of lead parts, but here she is singing more backup:

I suppose it is NOT surprising that ALL of the singers are musicians as well, even though Garrison only pointed out the instruments of a couple of performers.
What a Great Show!

Commemorating the bombing of Pearl Harbor gives us another opportunity to thank all those who have served and are serving.

Yes, definitely better. There was a story in today's paper about a mother planning a motorcade to welcome her son home, saying he's been gone for so many holidays he deserves a parade. He'll be home for his daughter's 7th birthday, the first he's been here for since she was born. I don't know the ins and outs of Guard and Reserve duty, but this man has been been on duty in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2005. The whole of WWII didn't last that long!
