I actually got to hear Robin and Linda, Garrison and Kate McKenzie, the original Hopeful Gospel Quartet at a concert just of theirs up in Daytona a number of years ago.

Careful, Doc, don't have too much fun on your own there in Omaha.

Funny how Jay, that gentle country romantic, has a line like "What I had was a hat, a coat and a gun" for his signature.

I just love the way Sue Scott says, "Oh, gosh, is that right?" It sounds so danged mid-western, just like my aunts.

Careful, Doc, don't have too much fun on your own there in Omaha. It seems quite nice here. Today it's in the 70's and sunny. But we have class from 7:15 to 5:30 or later every day, so there is not much time to get into trouble anyway. Though I guess rowdy girls (if I were one) can always find trouble.

Hah, I'm pretty recovered from the shingles if that counts for anything. Still not sure if/how much "post herpetic neuropathy" shall be my lot. Only 6 days of itchy 'spots' and peculiar pain.
When we all us kids had chicken pox it was during the 1949 earthquake in Seattle. There was so much ground movement that the creek in our front yard (Thornton Creek, by Northgate) went dry. We had all gotten out of the house when my Dad clapped his hand to his forehead and charged back in the house. This scared the willies out of me (to this day I have no willies) so I ran after him. He was always building the house around us and had dashed back in to hold the hot water tank up. I had nightmares about being chased by a rogue watertank for absolute years afterward and think of this distressing last couple of years as "the years the hotwater tank got me" which makes folks think I'm crazy which I am but not for that. Actually, it's the drugs but I ain't tellin.

So, how many of you are sitting there listening to the show with your significant other also in the room, or nearby? But you're more or less ignoring him/her so that you can chat here?

When it's showtime, everyone just goes around me and ignores me. Kind of like water going around a rock. Anybody wants to get me they can drop a bomb on the house between 6 and 8 pm Saturday night. I'm right here.

My sig. other is downstairs watching TV. He used to love the show but seems to have lost interest. Go figure.
A hotwater tank chasing rowdy girls? maybe vice versa. Anyway, I'm glad the horrid itchies are passing, Taz.
Now this is fine, too.

Rowdy girl trouble is always where you least expect it.
Didn't you go to Band Camp?
And I'm certainly getting older, should be real easy now.

That strong 3/4 beat reminds me of how my Dad would use this as an excuse to swoop down and hoist me to my feet to waltz with him (we're a good size match). This would have been delightful except he was taught to come down just ahead of the beat and my molecules are poised to hit on the beat.
(That's not the North Coast Limited, it's the First Seattle, a freight train).
