I'd love to hear from Thomas re: how these twenty-somethings are managing the stage and audience, etc. Does anyone know what sort of experience the contestants have?

Thomas was right at the beginning. This race is tightening up.

It just occurred to me I don't want to sound like Simon Cowell. So I'm going to be careful about negatives. My fave is still #3.
Are the songs supposed to be original, too?

Can you believe shingles? I just did a round. Fortunately my doc does email, so I emailed him my symptoms and a picture of the rash. He had my visiting nurse verify it and phoned in an order for an antiviral and extra pain meds (which I didn't need) and here I am -- oo, these kids are great! (shine on) -- a week later and doing fine.
"What are we fighting for?" ooof. trite. inauthentic sounding. not believable as a cowboy, not believable as husband and father.

These boys are playing well, but I don't care for this introspective stuff in country these days. It's time for another country revival.

I love songs about brothers and "that was us" is a good line. But this isn't a song.

Sorry. I love cowgirls. I've known some cowgirls. These ain't cowgirls. I agree. I was a cowgirl, though we tended to use the pick-up for moving the cows any distance. Horses Peggy (the bay) was windbroke and Tiny (the gray) was fat; Rocky was a handsome dark bay stallion but he was homosexual so cousin Lewis, uncle Harold, and brother Bill would not ride him so they used the pickup. I did when I could beat them to it. And we all left just as soon as we could, though not because we didn't like raising cattle but because we couldn't hack the small town society. (East Helena, turn north at the Veedol sign as you leave town on US 12.)

So far Erlewine/Bernard get my vote. I thought/hoped the Sweetback Sisters would sing some shaped note. I love that stuff. Jerry and I used to sing it when I was in seminary.
There! Seth did it again.
For some reason the Powderkegs don't seem to be adding anyhing to the genre or the repertoire - maybe because they're young; technically they're certainly excellent.
Now let's hear Jared again.

I thought he moved up some. Taz, I had shingles 20 years ago and will never forget the pain. Please God, I don't think i can get'em again.
These girls sound like a great comedy club act. Cute, but too limited.

The sisters have a unique sound of their own......they are a mix of something and the 40's... don't rightly know what the something is however

Taz, I had shingles 20 years ago and will never forget the pain. Please God, I don't think i can get'em again. That's my hope, too. I'm immune-suppressed and they said all sorts of ex diseases may pop up again (shingles was chicken pox the first time you had it). So far TB popped up (from years in India) and amoebiasis. Wasn't that fun? All of the eager interns/residents/staff wanting to see the liver cysts... Next time I'm charing per peek.
