APHC will showcase their first annual People in their twenties Talent Show. I'm looking forward to this. Some old-time band from Vermont ( yeehaw! seriously, I love that music), And from New York will be a femme country band ( well, if they're like the Wailin' Jennys?) Next from Michigan a singer/songwriter duo that makes me think maybe we'll be treated to something like Karen Savoca? And who does she play with? Pete somebody? Another musician from Somerville, MA ( this is a small town folks and I have a good friend who lives there, so I wonder if she knows this singer-songwriter?) A good ol country set from Nashville, TN. And to end the sextet, a country boy from Kaplan, LA ( okay, I'll have to be mighty impressed with this one because out of Louisiana, one doesn't get country, one gets Cajun or Zydeco or Brass Band or Funk, y'all). And here's what's really cool. We can vote on these poor souls via online voting!! I hope I can join y'all here on Saturday night. Thomas will be over at the Fitz in St. Paul, I'll be here in St. Louis Park, gk will be in the highlands of St. Paul, and the rest of you will be stuck in the sticks. Except for Brut. He'll be up there in Chowderhead Land. um, will he still be my baby after I post this??

Well, this is going to be a really tough contest. All six of the groups tonight were excellent, and the audience at the Fitz loved them. I do hope you all can take the time to cast your vote between 6:00 and 6:30 Central time tomorrow night. It's going to be a pretty special show! Here's a link for the finalists: prairiehome.publicradio.org/features/talent/Once again Sam and I will have our hands full with the changeovers, so I may not be as able to post during the show - I'll do my best to get you a rundown and the link where to vote. Beautiful weather here in MN today - hope you in the east are finally drying out. Good night.

For the first time in a couple of months, it's actually warmer than the forecast. And the sun is out!

We get to vote? Cool. GK should have considered that option for the poetry contest. I reckon we could have stuffed the ballot box quite nicely.

Keep your head down, slb. Don't stand too close to the windows or hold on to any electrical devices (plugged in, that is.)

So far 3, 1, 2. But only because I'm partial to string bands.
