Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa, men have named you You're so like the lady with the mystic smile Is it only cause you're lonely they have blamed you? For that Mona Lisa strangeness in your smile?
Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa? Or is this your way to hide a broken heart? Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep They just lie there and they die there Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa? Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art?
Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa? Or is this your way to hide a broken heart? Many DREAMS have been brought to your doorstep They just lie there and they die there Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa? Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art?

In dreams, I walk with you In dreams, I talk to you In dreams, you're mine all the time We're together in dreams, in dreams
But just before the DAWN I awake and find you gone I can't help it, I can't help it if I cry I remember that you said goodbye
Too bad it only seems It only happens in my dreams Only in dreams In beautiful dreams.

Blessed is the man Who walks in your favor Who loves all your words And hides them like treasure In the darkest hour Of his desperate heart They are a LIGHT, A strong sure light.
Sometimes I call out your name But I cannot find you I look for your face But you are not there By my sorrows, Lord, Lift me to you Lift me up to your side
Lord of eternity Father of mercy Look on my fainting soul Keeper of all the stars Friend of the poorest heart Touch me and make me whole.

Light my FIRE!
Can't remember who did it.
The Doors I think, but I am sure others did a cover of it.
Pause: I was not being suggestive when I suggested this lyric bookie!

Oh, darn! Does that mean you DON'T want me to light your fire?

Never heard of that song bookie. DONT? Try "Don't cry for me Argentina" Nah, we've been there and done that to death.

Tee hee.
I'll think of a FIRE song, don't you worry.

Hint:
Ring of Fire. Johnny Cash.
That reminds me, I must have a check-up.

If Ring of Fire reminds you that you need a check-up, I don't think I want to hear any de- tails. I will come up with my own fire song, thank you very much.

I think we've lost the idea of this thread bookie.
Trusty will be annoyed when he wakes up.

Listen, I'm playing the game, I don't know about you.
Should we delete our conversational asides? I don't mind. Leave the song posts.

Mmmm,
You do ask such good questions.
Now, where were we in terms of the thread?

You need to think of a song with VASE in it.

Was that a "Yes" to deleting our extraneous posts?

Duh!
No to deleting. Tursty can do that if he thinks it is against the spirit of Prairie Chatter!
I was trying to avoid that bloody VASE by the tangents I introduced.
Gimme about 24 hours.

No. You do not get 24 hours.

Well, there is an opera classic which contains the word vase in it, but that would be cheating.
The opera is in Italian.

I have not paid full attention to this thread. That's my excuse.
For the past two hours, I have had half-an-eye on a Rugby Game between Scotland and Ireland.
Scots were beaten by a single point.
harrumph.
I think I will now have my afternoon nap. Already in the season, one of my neighbours shows off by cutting the bloody grass.

I'll light the fire While you place the flowers in the VASE That you bought today....... C, S, and N (and maybe Y), Our House "Piece By Piece" Sitting on a corner street Children playing at my feet See the smiles on ice cream faces Feel myself begin to sink As the wind blows through my skin Leaves me open to TEMPTATIONCause nothing ever lasts forever We're like flowers in this vase, together

"Temptation Eyes" - the Grass Roots
Temptation eyes looking through my (my, my) SOUL Temptation eyes, you gotta love me Gotta love me tonight.
Do I get an extra an extra point since the word "TEMPTATION" is in the title AND the lyrics?

Don't think we're thinking of the same song, joew. Van Morrison wrote a song titled "Into the Mystic". But now I'm curious as to the one you're thinking of...no one picked up on "To Sir with Love" which does have the lyric line about moving the students from crayons to perfume. Booklady got my clue. Spoiler Alert— I was thinking of "Age of Aquarius" which mentions "mystic [something] revelations."

Joe, my mother would not let me go see the production of "Hair" when I was still living at home.
