BREAK TIME(this one's mine, I just know it) I miss her lips and the smile on her face The touch of her hair and this girl's warm embrace So if you don't wanna cry like I do A-keep away from-a run-around SUE. You got it! If you had missed, I was going to give the following hint: "Here's my story, its sad but true It's about a girl that I once knew She took my word and the one before To add on to her score..." ALSO, (DocK & others), the plural of a word is a different word. (I found a song with the phrase "cheap thrillS" in it.) Now, ya'll know. Back to "BELIEVE".....

I believe, for every drop of rain that FALLS a flower grows. I believe that somewhere in the darkest night a candle glows.

The rain falls down on last year's man That's a jew's harp on the table That's a CRAYON in his hand.

Point of clarification: does this have to be a song we know, or can it be a song we find? Is it cheating to go off and look for a song that fits?

For all we know we may never meet again.
I find that sad.
Is this permitted?

No, Brit, we are looking for a song with the word "crayon" in it, thanks to drk! ( ) I'm searching my old memory banks for some old Raffi song I may have heard when my kids were little.

Mmmm,
"Crayon" is a registered Trade Mark and I propose that this - and other generic names - be disallowed.
Dinah has just finishing Dysoning the floor.
Makes a change from the old Hoover.
That is so corny, it sucks.
I don't think I'm cut out for this game.

Point of clarification: does this have to be a song we know, or can it be a song we find? Is it cheating to go off and look for a song that fits? I think it should be songs we know. Googling is cheating in my book. And yeah, crayon has me stumped. I can think of songs close, but not quite. =========== also, Trusty, thanks for the pointed verse back there. I feel those playful vibes coming at me.

Well if crayon is trademarked or too difficult, I could capitalize HARP instead. (waddaya think Trusty?)
I thought of that, but was so impressed by lirio and danno's ability to find Argentina and Brazil, I went with CRAYON. I personally do not know of any song that has CRAYON in it, but maybe the Raffi or Sesame Street crowd has a song. Or maybe there was some sappy love song referring to "crayon colors of the rainbow," I'm not sure.

Having said that, I had to cheat and google Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" to be sure he didn't have crayons in there. He didn't, just "colors of the rainbow."
And anyway, that song is not sappy.

Yeah, I agree that we shouldn't google, and that's why I haven't (yet). Crayon is a toughie, but don't change it yet, doc. You never know what will pop out of a mind during the wee hours of an insomniac night.

Fair enough. I definitely understand DrK's expectation that someone here can come up with a song about anything, but I propose that we institute a Scrabble corollary. To wit, if challenged, the person must be able to come up with a song containing the word he/she has capitalized. And I love Googling.

Is "Blue eyes cryon in the Rain" Close enough?

I say "Why not?" roges, but Trusty makes the rules.
If subjected to a challenge, I was thinking of Buddy Holly's "Rave On" as close enough to "crayon." Or maybe the Orlons ("South Street") - no wait it would have to be the "Rayons."

Well, I succumbed to temptation and googled. I won't tell, since I looked, but there ARE songs with "crayon" in them. So keep thinkin'.

I, too, gave into temptation. But I'll give some hints: think mid-sixties, British female pop, with an eponymous film title.

Your call. Give it your best shot. Doesn't matter. It's in the song - copyrighted or not. Uhhhhhhhhh................... no. Crayon colored skies can Ease a troubled mind like nothing else Oh yeah, the moment's so DIVINE and Once again I find I'm overwhelmed "Trusting You" by Tammy Trent (I would have probably allowed "crayonS to perfume" 'cause I'm such a nice guy. :

As I walked out tonight in the MYSTIC garden The wounded flowers were dangling from the vines I was passing by yon cool and crystal fountain Someone hit me from behind

Mystic?

Post by joew on Mar 9, 2007 23:53:44 GMT -5
I know one, but I can only think of the opening and part of the refrain. For the line with "mystic" I can only remember that word and the second word after it, "revelations," which isn't good enough.

Don't think we're thinking of the same song, joew. Van Morrison wrote a song titled "Into the Mystic". But now I'm curious as to the one you're thinking of...no one picked up on "To Sir with Love" which does have the lyric line about moving the students from crayons to perfume.

drat, I love that song, To Sir, With Love.
Those schoolgirl days Of telling tales and biting nails are gone, yeah But in my mind I know that they live on and on and on and on But how do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume? It isn't easy, but I'll try.

Um, how 'bout:
Look at me, I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree? And I feel like I am falling, I can't understand, I get mystic, just holding your hand?
Okay, okay. I know I'm wrong. But I wanna play...........

I know one, but I can only think of the opening and part of the refrain. For the line with "mystic" I can only remember that word and the second word after it, "revelations," which isn't good enough. It should be crystal clear to anyone who was alive during the hairy 60s.
