Lots of hotels and condos in Honolulu, and on the beaches. But only one "interstate" highway, very short.

We too joke about the border and evil Canadians sneaking in - we're less than 50 miles from Vancouver, British Columbia, and about 20 miles from the border itself.

The Cable Company felt I needed education - you know, about how it was all my fault I was having connectivity problems. So I bought the new router as instructed, but - still so s--l--o--w--- on the access.

Poetry reading with slack key guitar playing in the background.... puts anyone in a reflective mood about the real cost of war to a society and a world... maybe GK should send a tape to Pres. Bush...

Here's my take on GW and his "post".......I see him thinking it's a hoot to be president, and all he had to do was surround himself with older guys who seemed to be experienced enough to guide him day to day....yet, meanwhile, he had been seeing this still as a hoot to be president. He has no idea what to do and when he does something, he has no clue on how to "finish" it....i.e. no exit strategy..... also, he reminds me of an old version of Alfred E. Newman

I have several bundles of letters my dad sent to my mom while he was overseas during the war. I've read only one, as I couldn't bear any more. I still treasure the bundles.

Carol, somewhere on my computer is a little clip of George W. Bush morphing into Alfred E Newman! Exactly the picture. If I can find it, I'll post it.

The letter bundles are in a safe place - the first thing I'll grab on the way out in an emergency.
