America remembers the events of 20 years ago. If anyone gathers this evening, I think the show will be: This week’s featured classic is a a summertime rebroadcast featuring two shows from 2004 and 2005 with guests Mark Knopfler, Emmylou Harris and Geoff Muldaur. Guy Noir dreams of Bogart, Ruth Harrison dreams of love, and in Lake Wobegon: Arlene Bunsen buried her leftover Easter ham in the backyard. www.prairiehome.org/shows/57149.html

I have never been to Tupelo, although I have visited memphis, including Graceland.
A trip to Highway 61 and all the juke joints is "still on my list."

Why, bb! What a pleasant surprise! And doc, welcome.
I'm all stiff and sore. I mowed the whole yard myself today, for the first time since last winter. The yard had been getting mowed, just not by me. I'm killed!

No wildfire smoke here in Seattle. I hear that it is still tough over in eastern Washington and northern Idaho. We've been lucky enough to have the wind off the ocean, so it blows everything east.

No wildfire problems up here near the border either. I know there have been fires in BC but they haven't been blowing our way. Now when we in central Washington at the Gorge concert, it was another story - fair amount of smoke but we could still get a view of the Columbia River behind the stage.

I watched the video of the "last show" that GK performed when he was leaving for Denmark (June 13, 1987). It was very interesting to see the difference between that show and the last one that I attended in St. Paul at the Fitz in 2016. Some parts were so familiar, and others were simply more spry! Chet Atkins and Leo Kottke did some amazing guitar work duing that show. And the Lake Wobegon characters all lined up to say good bye so to speak.

How's not working, Doc, in that out-of-house way? I like some time off but I'd rather be employed if I could find the right spot. Meanwhile since I need to take my board re0certification exam in November, I've been prepping for that.
