I remember you talking about him before, Gracie, so I won't spoil it. You remember that, Dan? He's MUCH better looking now. When someone gets it, I'll post some more recent ones.

Here's some hints for the day:
This man has been a dj, a soldier, a logger and a construction worker.
He's been so broke he even hustled for a while....and conversely....he's performed to sold out houses at Carnegie Hall.
But not for hustling, mind you. ;D

Let's see if I can do it THIS time. The one I want you to identify is the third from the left...young blonde man. Yes, he is still alive. No, his acting career didn't last long. And he is a personal friend of mine....and a very good kisser. Ask me, I know! I'm really bad at this. I do not recognize him at all.

He looks awfully familiar, but I'm not sure I even know his name. Is he one of those people who never became a name, but whom everyone recognizes? Like the sidekick lawyer on Perry Mason or the various cop/thug/lonely-guy supporting characters?
Talent at kissing doesn't really qualify as a clue....

I suppose not, Gail...but he's just so good at it! No, actually he became quite a name. It's just that, like the picture of Kristofferson, by the time he became that big name, he looked quite different. (Which is why I picked both men!) He's most known for his writing abilities: poetry and music. He scored some of the biggest movies of the 60s and early 70s. And Frank Sinatra commissioned an entire album of his work. And people either loved him or hated him; there seems to be no middle ground.

Who is Randy Newman? Isn't it Randy Neuman? Is he the dude who sang a song about short people? I wonder if that song includes the word mirror?
And who is Alfred E. Newman? Or was that Neuman, too?

I think Thomas is correct. Here's another shot: But I like the way he looks now: hubba hubba: But he's old enough to be my father, fer pete's sake! Eek!! His birthday is the same as my mother's, but four years prior.

Good work, one and all. It kept you busy for a couple days, anyway. Trusty, that was so sweet, you posting the picture of Mr. Kelly. Slb! I was born on McKuen's 27th birthday! That's what I told him the night I met him. He said he would have to revise his poem (the one about 27 being such a bad year. What a charmer.) I totally agree that he just gets better looking with age: I have these, among many others, all signed: They hang over my desk. And dozens of snapshots from all the times the gang gets together to see him, but my scanner isn't up and running just now, so these are just off Google search. Anyway. I knew someone would get it.

No, it's Randy Newman. Brilliant songwriter. Has nothing against sort people (see under: unreliable narrators and irony). Listen to his record "Sail Away" and be blown away.

Whoever he is, he looks like a school principal's nightmare. Look at that devious expression. The things he's planning don't bear thinking about.

Thomas, I KNEW the dog was too much of a hint - a dead giveaway. I won't be so obvious next time. And Gracie, I love those pics you posted: a photo of Rod McKuen and a drawing of Jesus. Really nice.
