When I hear "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?", I want to rip off my ears.
There, Mike, what do you say to that?

OK, gk, we have found an area of disagreement. I have always despised Bacharack (sp) and Warwick, together or separately. As for football (Favre is football, right?) I know nothing. And care less. Ok, I'm sleeping and this is a nightmare, right? Somebody wake me up, quick! Burt Bacharach is a musical genius, an icon. Dionne Warwick is a beautiful singer. Did someone forget to add the tincture of tenderness to the Prairie Kool-aid today? Mike I found out today that Mars is in retrograde, and has been since December 26. I was greatly relieved to hear a rational explanation for the general non-focused testiness and anxiety around me; I was thinking we'd gone down the rabbit hole.

Some Winners Aren't Kind . . . I Will Ignore Them . . . Until Their Team Loses, And Then I Will Rub Their Noses In It, Too . . . It Could Take Years, But It Will Happen . . ." There! Don't you feel Better? ;D

Man, I'm buying that, and stealing it, too. It certainly explains a lot of things at work. And here, too. And Jane . . . please don't rip your ears off . . . It will look so odd in future portraits. You will embarrass your grandchildren more than you ever embarrassed your own children when they were teenagers, and that's not a good thing. Jane, it is truly your line "and care less" that has me in tears . . . Probably Mike, too. {Honestly, football is not my game. Baseball is. Let's not have this conversation when the Mariners don't make the World Series, Okay? }

I thought he already retired. Hard to keep track.

What's so hard about keeping track? Or, was that a polite way of being dismissive?
I like old timers, I'm becoming an old timer. I have a friend that is over 70 and he still goes to work everyday with passion. He has a glint in his eye, strength in his voice, and fight in his spirit. Everyone who knows him, respects him. He's a modern day John Wayne. Where is the joy in quiting while one is on top of ones game. Screw the world, one can be a fool many times, but one can only live twice (twice is out of respect to Carolion).
Anyway, Brett's just a guy that loves to play football. What's so bad about that?
It's all rhetorical.

I don't have anything against older adults working, in fact I love my work and do not plan to retire until I am unable to work.
As for Favre - didn't he already retire and then come back after all? Maybe more than once? That is why I have a hard time keeping track.

It may annoy some people (ok, maybe a lot of people) that Favre is always pulling this walk the fence act, but the Vikings are willing to pay him millions of dollars if he decides to play. Although, I don't think he's motivated by the money.
I like the guy, I'm a fan; I hope he does decide to play this season. I think it would be great fun to watch a 40 year old QB playing a game he loves.

OK, let's hear the cheers from you Minne - so - tans!
I can't quite say that right, just like other people can't say N-'awlins right. It's not Nu Orleans, it's not Nawlins, and it is certainly not New ORleans.
