~~~~~~~~~~The 8th Of July~~~~~~~~~ What is so different about the 8th of July this year?
At five minutes and six seconds after 4 am on the 8th of July this year, the time and date will be 04:05:06 07/08/09.
This will never happen again.
I love stuff like this. But I'm wondering about time zones. Won't this happen over and over or is there a perfect Convergence in time?
I think it will happen many times. Maybe more than 24 because there are some time zones on the half-hour. Maybe less though, because in many places, the day comes before the month, so it woulbe listed as 04:05:06 8/7/09, although those locations will have the alternative of the 7th day of August (the 8th month).
One of my friends was married on May 5, 2005 at 5:55 pm, so the invitations were for 5:55 on 05/05/05.
Yeah, in many places, 04:05:06 07/08/09 would be five minutes and six seconds after 4a.m. on the seventh of August, 2009.
It's bitter cold here. Gather around the piano and enjoy... An elderly couple walked into the lobby of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for a checkup and spotted a piano. They've been married for 62 years and he'll be 90 this year. Check out this impromptu performance... It's all attitude. Enjoy!! Sound Up. That is really sweet. I remember seeing that piano and wondering if anyone ever played it. Sadly, that couple wasn't there when I was.
Lily the Bear has given birth! We have a devoted bear researcher who put a webcam in the den of a mom-to-be. It's cramped, not like the zoo births, but I can see that she's delivered at least one cub. Apparently there were some really tough moments (and no one to hold her paw and tell her when to push) which our faithful observer watched with fascination. He and his wife have been taking turns full-time, unable to risk sleeping through any of the drama. Go here to the camera and the full beardom site. www.bear.org/website/visit-us/lily-den-cam.html
As you aren't a football fan, you may not know about this version performed by the inimitable Brett Favre: www.youtube.com/results?search_query=pants+on+the+ground+favre&search_type=&aq=fMaybe that will soothe Mike's hurt feelings over your trashing of Bacharach and Warwick. Patsy the horse outshines either of the pants/ground rappers. Patsy rocks. Patsy deserves his own reality show. Patsy for President!
And I especially like the paint job on the convertible. Not that Patsy would be unprecedented or anything. It's not as though we haven't had horses a$$e$ in the Oval Office before! All hands, feel free to fill in the blank silently, based upon the political/historical perspective of your choice.
*Snort, snort*
I only just this week learned the origin of the low-slung beltline look. If it's factual those young boys who affect the look probably are signaling an orientation they didn't intend.
I remember darlin' daughter pinning her pants seams with safety pins when she was in junior high. It took forever for her to get ready to go anywhere in the a.m.
My favorite part? She swore she'd never, ever wear bell-bottomed jeans. Sometimes, just for the enjoyment of it all, I serve those words to her with a dash of irony.
Gail, I do notice the postings you offer for amusement. Should probably be more mindful of letting you know. When I posted the clip of Snowball and a comment about how that one cheered me I was gratified to see you reference it at a later time. We notice.
Familiarity sometimes breeds laziness. As in, "Why should I tell my wife I love her? She aready knows that." I believe that's a standard Scandinavianism.
This is not my creativity but rather that of some others from a forum I peek in on from time to time. It's an international forum and so it's possible that the creativity is the result of difficulty with our unwieldy language.
And I doubt that considering the state of education.
Submitted for your, ah, perusal:
"The mayhem was the result of culvert operations."
"Please bare in mind. . ."
"I was bread and born in. . ."
A reference to someone's "dew rag."
And a totally uncalled for insult labeling all readers as a bunch of "panty wastes!" (I kinda like that one.)
P.O.E.M. perused and is otherwise not amused.
Thanks, Hart and I love your offering. Panty waste is such a wonderful double entendre - did you tell them about poopy pants?
Thanks, Hart and I love your offering. Panty waste is such a wonderful double entendre - did you tell them about poopy pants? Nope. I reserve things like that for people who know me. Otherwise they may think I've a scatological bent. Heh. My son did one of those things on vacation that only a parent would think was dumb and I did call him a poopy pants. Thought he'd fall off his bus seat. Incidently, I have been back a couple of times to watch the elders and their playful duet at the piano. What do I want to be when I grow up? Such perfect role models of a light touch to life! Or should I call them roll models?
