I usually have a double-shot of incredibly strong green tea each morning. Didn't today and eventually suffered a distracting headache. Made some tea. Still brewing. Put on booker t & the mgs, courtesy of mymike No tea yet, but the headache is gone. Is there anything that music won't cure?

And to make this an appropriate post for the advisory board, what do y'all use to cure ailments?

Personally, I love drugs. Drugs are our friends. Interesting news story last night. I haven't had time to track down the research, but the gist of it was that ibuprofen may reduce development of Alzheimer's. So that might be my new antidote for everything.

Truthfully, I rarely ever take over-the-counter medicine. Homeopathic remedies, herbal teas, and tinctures make me happier. My philosophy is that I already have what I need to feel better, but sometimes I need to pump up my natural healing abilities. I don't know why natropathic remedies work better for me than synthetic al a OTC drugs, but they do. I think it's (almost) all in the attitude. Where's roges to back me up?

I get killer migraines, and have, for years and years. I can see now why they used to be called 'sick headaches.' But so far none of the RX stuff for them does it, and there are times I want to just take a sledgehammer to my head. Surely it would hurt less than whatever is going on in there!
I rely heavily on Excedrin and have been known to add a shot of espresso to my protein smoothie. (There was a time when Griz and I were apart that I was living on Slim Fast because I did NOT want to eat, but had to have some calories...so every time I made a shake I'd toss in a shot of espresso--this was at the bookstore and I was a great barista!. One night my dear friend John called and after we'd talked a bit he asked if I'd eaten anything that day....I said I'd pulled a double shift and so had consumed 4 SlimFasts, only I'd doubled the espresso to get me through such a long day. John said 'so you've had EIGHT SHOTS today?' and I said I guessed I had. And he said," My God, your HAIR must be standing on end!" Apparently I was talking faster than the speed of light.....)
ANYWAY. Caffeine and drugs, baby, that's my system.

I love Advil. I am too wussy to put up with the least sign of a headache. (Though I did deliver a 9 pound, 15 ounce baby natural-style. ) When allergies get to me they give me a sinus headache, one of those things that make your face feel like you slept with a large clothespin on it and it's all scrunched up, and I discovered accidentally that OTC Clariton with three Advil work acceptably. Occasionally I'll pop a generic Benadryl (diphenhydramine?) to get a full night's sleep. But since I haven't been drinking wine, I've been sleeping much, much better.

Come to think of it, I've been getting headaches even less frequently of late than I used to. In fact, I can't remember when I had my last one (beyond a brief twinge). The remedy is the same as always: a couple of aspirin, enhanced generally with a small glass of coffee.

Orgasms get rid of headaches, too. What a buncha malarkey about, "Not now, dear, I have a headache." In that case, sex is exactly what s/he needs!
