Has anyone else here had this experience ? Every so often I've emailed the White house - lately I've just been forwarding and/or cutting-pasting stuff from the CPT Iraq & Palestine reports, and from the struggles the Mohawk people are having with Canada & US Homeland "Security" goons - and ZIP! ZOOM! As soon as I send, there's a "reply" (Comments@gov. com)....Which means all my emails are blocked, without their telling me that. Censorship......Hands-over-ears.
Anyway, how about the rest of you - is anyone else emailing the WhiteHouse, and what have been your experiences in terms of honest replies?

God Bless You for trying, carolion, but a long time ago I gave up trying to send anything to the White House by email. I figured it would only get me on a sedition list. Blogging something other than the party line may well do the same thing, but I find it more satisfying and I've chatted with some great people. This President does not listen. My last attempt at direct communication was to mail him a bag of rice and suggest we would be safer and more respected if we tried to feed people rather than shoot at and scare them.

Great idea Julia,
I wonder if anyone has thought about starting a national campaign to send a bag (or box) of rice to the President with a simple message.. feed our enemies rather than shoot them? Wonder how many terrorists would be left if we took care of basic human needs instead of building more nuclear weapons?

Somebody, I forget now who, suggested the idea to me. I thought it a good idea, too. Somebody else reported somewhere that Lionel Ritchie is wildly popular in Iraq. Send him over there to be a good will ambassador and do a couple of concerts. These cowboy, shoot-up-the-town types have no imagination.

The bag of rice is genius, j*, whoever thought it up. Better than panties. No, seriously, better than karma points on a post, because - rice is solid. I wonder if there's anyone coordinating a "rice send" concerning the torture bill and the nuke-test-in-Indiana bill? Instead of haranguing with unheard words, just = send rice. What's the scale - one bag = ? two bags = ? etc.

I'm taking the liberty of pasting in here a message I sent to my senators and congressmen via the FCNL website. This is by way of inviting Chatter, dialogue on the concepts - but also sharings of your varied contacts with your own legislators - including your own legislative experiences (thinking of the Babe here, and her Cemetery Board):
//The Honorable Mike DeWine United States Senate 140 Russell Senate Office Building Washington, DC 20510-3503 Re: Iran-Iraq-Syria Firestorm Not A Good Plan Senator DeWine:
I wish to register my complete and total support for the development of a multinational peacekeeping force - a Planetary Peacekeeping Force, if you will. This Force, which would consist not only of military, but also of prayer warriors (Spiritual or "Peaceful" warriors of all genders and ages) and medical, financial, ecological, and social healing teams. The purpose of this Planetary Peacekeeping Force would be to recognize and disable any "rogue" elements disrupting planetary harmony.
I believe that perhaps 97% of humanity does not desire the current form of warfare (I call it "bloody warmongering") which includes severe damage to home and family, including loss of precious elders, parents, aunties and uncles, family friends and children.
I believe we can do better than this.
I'd like to see the United States lead the way in the development of a "Hexagon" to balance our "Pentagon": that is, a department of Peace to balance our department of War. I believe that many other nations would follow our example.
I believe that then, the uniqueness of the USAmerican soldier (that is, the willingness to give up one's life for the benefit of another's Freedom of Choice) will be made clear to the rest of the nations - and that the deepest and highest honor of the USAmerican nature will be confirmed. We can set an amazing example for the rest of humanity. I believe that, if we demonstrate this idea of a multinational Planetary Peace Force to the rest of humanity, we'll have a huge outpouring of cooperation and reconciliation world-wide.
I consider myself to be a "Matriot" - that is, a Guardian of the "Great Hold" (the entire planet and all of humanity and all beings). We have plenty of "Patriots" (Guardians of the "Small Hold" - town, state, nation) but we need more Matriots. Otherwise the "rogue male" destructive energy (bombs, land mines, nukes, torture, etc) gets a foothold and creates evil.
As a mother of a son being sent to the Middle East, I pray that the House and Senate can look at their imbalances and take steps to move beyond "small-hold" thinking into "great-hold" thought. That way we can assist families destroyed by warmongering in the healing of their generations.
My greatest good will to all your divinely-guided efforts on behalf of humanity as a whole, and the part the USA must play in that. Sincerely, Carolion//

Here's what I sent the Prez and my Senators & Congressfolk today, through the FCNL website: // President Bush:
There are three majors issues affecting the state of lack of harmony in the Mideast: 1. Need for reforestation 2. Need for awareness of Matriotic point of view in terms of planetary ecological health 3. Need for increase in Feminine energy in elected bodies and in prominent negotiating positions, in order to increase positive ecological balance (fertility, nutrition) in the Mideast.
I won't waste your time elaborating on these issues. If you wish to know more, please contact me. Thank you for your hard work, concern for the planet, and consideration of all points of view.//
