Thanks for the run down Thomas... so could we all form a chorus in honor of tonight's opera theme? I can sing mid range tenor.. not able to hit the really high notes.. anyone out there able to sing bass? Nope, I'm tenor, too. Alto when I've been practicing. disability has weakend my diaphragm beyond reason. I sound like a quavering lil-ol-lady

Although not a toe tapping show.....a very nice one none the less. Nicely put together....who is responsible for that? It was very pleasant. I look forward to next week.
Have a good week all !!

Hiya, slb! You start a poem by collecting words?

Quavering is allowed... we will have to pick the right song and feature you!!! Actually all we got were two tenors and GailKite singing alto/bass, depending on the mood....

Gilligan's Island. T.V. comedy about seven people stranded on a deserted island. They did a musical of Hamlet.

Yeah - she was a regular on the old Voice of Firestone series... Along with Jussi Boerling Yeah, I think. Eleanor Steber doesn't sound right. An 'M' it starts with an 'M' - would we really have a soprano named Mimi? Or am I thinking of my sister.

gk, remember that phrase the del McCory (sp?) band sang last Labor Day on the show? Five flat stones in a river bed (paraphrased)? Yes, like that, I collect words and see how they fit into a poem. That or I just sit down and "channel" someone else's thoughts. (Like my poem about Ruby Pearlman and the diner in Tupelo.)

Hi, Thomas. I've taken to hanging around the big boards with all the switches and the guys with headphones on, thanks to you. They're not used to having groupies and certainly not really old ones like me in wheelchairs and O2 gear. My first wheelchair caused interference with p,a, systems and I made noisy dramatic entrances and *certainly* could not tiptoe out to chat with Mother Nature in the Ladies' Room. Next I'm going to take my cat with me, but she's the one that becomes a ninja Swiss Army cat.

Yeah, that was a great show. I watched it as a child, and can still see reruns in syndication today. Bob Denver, the actor who palyed Gilligan, died recently.
