Well, if SLB can get away with the American spelling on "New Game" referring to something as mold when the correct spelling is mould, I can get away with this:
The 'arbour lights are beckoning, Our stout boat is riding high, By the distant view, we're reckoning, We are nearly home and dry.
We've travelled many an ocean, And weathered storms so wild, Of the seas, we have a notion, By it all, we've been beguiled.
There've been times when we have wavered, And times when concern was rife, Many moments we have savoured, And pondered upon this life.
But seafaring days are our days, And when all is said and done, These seas attract, in such special ways, And conquering them can be fun.
But, like now, we're to base returning, Friends and family to meet and greet, There's a rest from the sea's endless churning, Somewhere solid to plant our feet.
Now the harbour lights are gleaming, And the sails relax their strain, Our faces begin their beaming, For we're safely back home again.
(I was actually looking for the one by Andy Williams but the title escapes me right now.)

This was too easy, because I've been watching PBS tonight, a lovely documentary I've seen before.
It is one of my favorites....wonderful to hear the music as lush and layered as rushing waters, and the ship's bell....just perfect.
To sail on a dream on a crystal clear ocean To ride on the crest of a wild raging storm To work in the service of life and the living In search of the answers to questions unknown To be part of the movement and part of the growing Part of beginning to understand
Aye, Calypso, the places you’ve been to The things that you’ve shown us The stories you tell Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit The men who have served you So long and so well
Like the dolphin who guides you You bring us beside you To light up the darkness and show us the way For though we are strangers in your silent world To live on the land we must learn from the sea To be true as the tide And free as the wind-swell Joyful and loving in letting it be
Aye, Calypso, the places you’ve been to The things that you’ve shown us The stories you tell Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit The men who have served you So long and so well
Aye, Calypso, the places you’ve been to The things that you’ve shown us The stories you tell Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit The men who have served you So long and so well

Talk about too easy, Gracie!
Here is the Sister Act version (I love Sister Act):
Joyful, Joyful Lord, we adore Thee God of glory Lord of love Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee Hail Thee as the sun above Melt the clouds of sin and sadness Drive the dark of doubt away Giver of IMMORTAL gladness Fill us with the light Fill us with the light Oh, fill us with the light of day......
Joyful, Joyful Lord, we adore Thee God of glory Lord of love Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee Hail Thee as the sun above Melt the clouds of sin, sin and sadness Drive the dark of doubt away Drive it away Giver of immortal gladness Fill us Fill us with the light of day Light of day!
Joyful, Joyful Lord we adore Thee An' in my life I put none before Thee Cuz since I was a youngster I came to know That you was the only way to go
So I had to grow an' come to an understandin' That I'm down with the King so now I'm demandin' That you tell me who you down with, see Cuz all I know is that I'm down with G-O-D You down with G-O-D? (Yeah, you know me) You down with G-O-D? (Yeah, you know me) You down with G-O-D? (Yeah, you know me) Who's down with G-O-D? (Everybody)
Come and join the chorus The mighty, mighty chorus Which the morning stars begun The Father of love is reigning over us
Right away
What have you done for Him lately? Ooh, ooh, ooh yeah What have you done for Him lately?
He watches over everything So we sing
Joyful, Joyful Lord, we adore Thee God of glory Lord of love Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee Hail Thee as the sun above Melt the clouds of sin, sin and sadness Drive the dark of doubt away Drive it away Giver of immortal gladness ( won't you) Fill us ( Fill us with the light of day, Lord, fill us) Fill us ( oh we need You, yes we do, fill us) Fill us ( yeah..., oh, oh yeah) Fill us ( with the light of day, Lord) .... ( We need you, come right away, We need you, need you today, we need you, I'm here to say fill us, fill us, fill us, fill us...)
Fill us with the light of day ( oh, yeah) Light of day!

Immortal, invisible, God only wise, In light inaccessible hid from our eyes, Most blessèd, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious, Thy great Name we praise.
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might; Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.
To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small; In all life Thou livest, the true life of all; We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree, And wither and perish-- but naught changeth Thee.
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light, Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight; All laud we would render; O help us to see 'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.

Talk about too easy, Gracie! Here is the Sister Act version (I love Sister Act): Joyful, Joyful Lord, we adore Thee Yes, Sister! That's the very song I had in my head, but no time to post. And I looove Sister Act as well. I love gospel like dey sings it.
But Gracie has given me soaring, so I'll offer this, from Kiki's Delivery Service:Soaring My heart is ready to beat I can feel the wind underneath my feet I'm gonna jump over the moon Hands in the air waving up like a BALLOONI'm free as a bird Lost in the stars and waving down to earth Don't know where I'm gonna land But you gotta wobble before you stand I'm soaringAll alone and on my own I'm soaring And I know my heart will lead me home Just look in my eyes Can't you see I'm not the same today I can see farther now Stepped off the edge and making my own way Don't know where I'm gonna land But you gotta wobble before you stand I'm soaring All alone and on my own I'm soaring And I know my heart will lead me home

99 Red Balloons
There's an obvious reply, but I'm going with this plea for peace.
Text: Carlo Karges (English by Kevin McAlea) Musik: J. U. Fahrenkrog-Petersen
You and I in a little toy shop Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got Set them free at the break of dawn Til one by one, they were gone Back at base bugs in the software Flash the message, something's out there Floating in the summer sky 99 red balloons go by
99 red balloons Floating in the summer sky Panic bells it's red alert There's something here from somewhere else The war machine springs to life Opens up one eager eye Focusing it on the sky as 99 red balloons go by
99 Decision street 99 ministers meet To worry, worry, super flurry Call the troops out in a hurry This is what we've waited for This is it boys, this is war The president is on the line As 99 red balloons go by
99 knights of the air Ride super high tech jet fighters Everyone's a super hero Everyone's a Captain Kirk With orders to identify To clarify, and classify Scramble in the summer sky 99 red balloons go by
99 DREAMS I have had In every one a red balloon It's all over and I'm standing pretty In this dust that was a city If I could find a souvenir Just to prove the world was here And here is a red balloon I think of you, and let it go

Recherche d'Acadie by Michael Doucet
Quand je reve de ma vie en Acadie Moi j'ai vu mes voisins et les familles Devant leurs maisons Toutes brulees A leurs genoux Ils ont crie Pourquoi le bon dieu nous a abandonne Recherche d'Acadie
. . . Quand je reve, ici en la Louisiane Tous ensemble, bien fiers mais aussi beaucoup pauvre On a recommence Notre vie En famille On a travaille La belle terre Pour l'avenir Encore notre paradis Nouvelle Acadie
translation
When I dream of my life in Acadie I see my neighbors and their families Outside their houses BURNING down On their knees They cried, "Why has the good Lord Abandoned us?" In search of Acadie
When I dream, here in Louisiana All together, proud but dirt poor We started over Our lives With our families We worked The good land For the future Once again our paradise New Acadie

This popular song of The Great War was written by Lena Guilbert Ford in 1919 to music by Ivor Novello.
They were summoned from the hillside, They were called in from the glen, And the Country found them ready At the stirring call for men.
Let no tears add to their hardship. As the soldiers pass along, And although your heart is breaking Make it sing this cheery song.
Keep the home fires burning, While your hearts are yearning, Though your lads are far away They dream of Home;
There's a silver lining Through the dark cloud shining Turn the dark cloud inside out, Till the boys come home.
Over the seas there came a pleading, 'Help a nation in distress!' And we gave our glorious laddies; Honour bade us do no less.
For no gallant Son of Britain To a foreign yoke shall bend. And no Englishman is silent To the sacred call of Friend.
Keep the home fires burning, While your hearts are yearning, Though your lads are far away They dream of Home;
There's a silver lining Through the dark cloud shining Turn the dark cloud inside out, Till the boys come home.

Baby, baby Where did our love go? Oh, don't you leave me Don't you leave me no more
I've got this burning, yearning yearning feeling inside me Oh, deep inside me And it hurts so bad
You came into my life So tenderly With a burning love That stings like a bee
And now that I've SURRENDERED So helplessly You know I believe You want to leave me
Oh, baby baby Where did our love go Oh, don't you leave me
Oh, baby baby Where did our love go? Oh don't you leave me Don't you leave me no more
You came into my life So tenderly With a burning love That stings like a bee
And now that I've surrendered So helplessly You know I believe You want to leave me
Baby, baby Where did our love go? Oh, baby baby Don't you leave me no more
I've got this burning, burning yearning feeling inside me Deep inside me And it hurts so bad
Baby, baby Where did our love go? Don't you leave me Don't you leave me no more And now that I've surrendered so helplessly You know, I believe you want to leave me
Baby, baby Where did our love go
I know this one from Soft Cell

Here at your feet I'll always be With the angels Crying HOLY There's not one thing That means as much to me as You my God, as You my King
Here in the darkness I lift my eyes to You Your light comes shining through
(Chorus:) Jesus, I surrender I draw nearer, I fall down Master, be my Savior Be my shelter, be my God
There's no one else Who can compare to you The righteous One, the perfect Son
Here in this silence I hear You speak my name And I cry out to You

Everything would shine wherever she would go But lookin at her now you'd never tell. Someone ran away with her innocence; A memory she can't get out of her head. And I can only imagine what she's feelin when she's pray'n Kneeling at the edge of her bed. And she says - take me away Then take me farther Surround me now, And hold - hold - hold me like holy water holy water She wants someone to call her angel, Someone to put the light back in her eyes, She's looking through the faces and the unfamiliar places She needs somone to hear her when she cries. And she says - take me away Then take me farther Surround me now, And hold - hold - hold me like holy water She just needs a little help to wash away the pain she's felt She wants to feel the healing hands of someone who understands And she says - take me away Then take me farther Surround me now, And hold - hold - hold me And she says Take me away Then take me farther Surround me now, And hold - hold - hold me like holy water Like holy water, like holy water, like holy water First time I heard this, I thought, Damn, how'd those two know me so well?

Lord I come to You Let my heart be changed, renewed Flowing from the grace That I've found in You And Lord I've come to know The weaknesses I see in me Will be stripped away By the power of Your love
Hold me close Let Your love surround me Bring me near Draw me to Your side And as I wait I'll rise up like an eagle And I will soar with You Your spirit leads me on By the Power of Your love
Lord unveil my eyes Let me see you face to face The knowledge of Your love As you live in me And Lord renew my mind As Your will unfolds in my life In living every day By the Power of Your love
Hold me close Let Your love surround me Bring me near Draw me to Your side And as I wait I'll rise up like an EAGLE And I will soar with You Your Spirit leads me on By the power of Your love
(Draw me close Hold me near Draw me closer Hold me near You draw me close to You And never let me go)
And as I wait I'll rise up like the eagle And I will soar with You Your spirit leads me on By the power of Your love By the power of Your love
(Draw me close Hold me near)

Half a pound of tuppenny rice, Half a pound of treacle. That’s the way the money goes, Pop! goes the weasel. Up and down the City road, In and out the Eagle, That’s the way the money goes, Pop! goes the weasel.
A nursery rhyme from the time of Charles Dickens.

Slb, you chose one of my most favorite praise choruses...I actually feel like I'm soaring when we sing it. Powerful stuff.
And because Brit chose what he did, marking Eagle from your choice, and Road for his....I give you, by the Eagles:
There are stars In the Southern sky Southward as you go There is moonlight And moss in the trees Down the Seven Bridges Road
Now I have loved you like a baby Like some lonesome child And I have loved you in a tame way And I have loved you wild
Sometimes there's a part of me Has to turn from here and go Running like a child from these warm stars Down the Seven Bridges Road
There are stars in the Southern sky And if ever you decide You should go There is a taste of time sweetened honey Down the Seven Bridges Road
What say you? I say, I am off to work. Books to shelve, you know.

[glow=blue,2,300]The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald[/glow]
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead When the skies of November turn gloomy.
With a load of iron ore - 26,000 tons more Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed When the gales of November came early
The ship was the pride of the American side Coming back from some mill in Wisconson As the big freighters go it was bigger than most With a crew and the [glow=red,2,300]Captain [/glow]well seasoned.
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms When they left fully loaded for Cleveland And later that night when the ships bell rang Could it be the North Wind they'd been feeling.
The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound And a wave broke over the railing And every man knew, as the Captain did, too, T'was the witch of November come stealing.
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait When the gales of November came slashing When afternoon came it was freezing rain In the face of a hurricane West Wind
When supper time came the old cook came on deck Saying fellows it's too rough to feed ya At seven PM a main hatchway caved in He said fellas it's been good to know ya.
The Captain wired in he had water coming in And the good ship and crew was in peril And later that night when his lights went out of sight Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
Does anyone know where the love of God goes When the waves turn the minutes to hours The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay If they'd fifteen more miles behind her.
They might have split up or they might have capsized They may have broke deep and took water And all that remains is the faces and the names Of the wives and the sons and the daughters.
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings In the ruins of her ice water mansion Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams, The islands and bays are for sportsmen.
And farther below Lake Ontario Takes in what Lake Erie can send her And the iron boats go as the mariners all know With the gales of November remembered.
In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral The church bell chimed, 'til it rang 29 times For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee Superior, they say, never gives up her dead When the gales of November come early.

I love that one. LOVE it. It's one of the few things I really miss about living in Michigan, watching the memorial service on local TV each year.
This was the one I had in mind, BTW, for 'seven':
Seven turns on the highway Seven rivers to cross Sometimes you feel like you could fly away Sometimes you get lost
And sometimes in the darkened night You see the crossroad sign One way is the mornin’ light You got to make up your mind
Somebody's callin’ your name Somebody's waitin’ for you Love is all that remains the same That's what it's all comin’ to Hey, yeah
Runnin’ wild out on the road Just like a leaf on the wind How in the world could you ever know We'd ever meet again?
Seven turns on the highway Seven rivers to cross Sometimes you feel like you could fly away Sometimes you get lost
Somebody's callin’ your name Somebody's waitin’ for you Love is all that remains the same That's what it's all comin’ to
Somebody's callin’ your name Somebody's waitin’ for you Love is all that remains the same That's what it's all comin’ to
Somebody's callin’ your name Somebody's waitin’ for you Somebody's callin’ your name That's what it's all comin’ to
But then I was always a huge Allman Brothers fan....
Now let me see....captain, captain....
OH!
Everybody, listen to me, And return me, my ship. I'm your captain, I'm your captain, though I'm feeling mighty sick.
I've been lost now, days uncounted, And it's months since I've seen home. Can you hear me, can you hear me, Or am I all alone.
If you return me, to my home port, I will kiss you mother earth. Take me back now, take me back now, To the port of my birth.
Am I in my cabin dreaming, or are you really scheming, To take my ship away from me?
You'd better think about it, I just can't live without it. So, please don't take my ship from me. Yeah, yeah, yeah ...
I can feel the hand, of a stranger, And it's tightening, around my throat. Heaven help me, Heaven help me, Take this stranger from my boat.
I'm your captain, I'm your captain, though I'm feeling mighty sick. Everybody, listen to me, And return me, my ship.
I'm your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm getting closer to my home ... I'm getting closer to my home ... I'm getting closer to my home ... I'm getting closer to my home ... Ohhhh ...
I'm getting closer to my home ... I'm getting closer to my home ... I'm getting closer to my home ... I'm getting closer to my home ...
'cause, as I know we have discussed here before...I am an even huge-er Grand Funk Railroad fan. Although this is not my favorite of their work (that would be "Some Kind of Wonderful" tied with their version of "The Loco-Motion.")
Another thing to thank Michigan for...hee hee....

Phooey. I was thinking of Heaven on the Seventh floor, well I've never been this high before. Why won't you rescue me, won't you rescue me?
And then I thought of The Mardi Gras Song--Capitaine, Capitaine, voyage ton flag...
Now I've got to come up with dreaming.
Anne Murray - I Just Fall In Love Again Lyrics print version
Dreaming, I must be dreaming or am I really lying here with you? Baby, you take me in your arms And though I'm wide AWAKE I know my dream is coming true And Oh I just fall in love again just one touch and then it happens every time There I go I just fall in love again and when I do, I can't help myself I fall in love with you Magic, it must be magic The way I hold you when the night just seems to fly Easy for you to take me to a star Heaven is that moment when I look into your eyes. And Oh I just fall in love again just one touch and then it happens every time There I go I just fall in love again and when I do, I can't help myself I fall in love with you Can't help myself I fall in love with you

Mmm, that's a pretty one.
And here's a powerful one. I remember seeing Melissa in concert with someone dear to me the summer my life fell apart, and she sang this one for her encore, and it felt like my own anthem at the time. I must've carried these words with me everywhere for that entire difficult year...
Ain't it crazy For a moment there This felt just like dying But now I see that something inside Is coming alive Ain't it crazy
No use running from a revolution I just surrender to this evolution
Heal me lift me Take me to the other side Amazing grace Has touched my face And the sweet sound doesn't lie
Ain't it crazy For a moment there I just gave up trying But now I see You can let the light in You can begin again Ain't it crazy I lay me down in this sweet perfection I am a witness to my resurrection
Heal me lift me Take me to the waterside Drop me in let me swim Let everyone know I'll be coming home again
Make no mistake I'm wide-awake Ain't it crazy
Heal me lift me Take me to the other side I'll take what I've earned These lessons I've learned I'm ready for the ride Heal me lift me Take me and my soul will fly My battered heart will make a new start Let everyone know I'll be coming home again Heal me lift me Take me to the waterside Drop me in Come on and watch me swim Let everyone know I'll be coming home again

Thomas is looking for Danni Mynogue. She gave us this song:
You're perfection (All that I Want) You're perfection (Won't give you up)
He was standing in the middle, but thoughts of you remain Everytime you leave me baby, I'm taken back again
You show me places that I've never been You give me love, I give you all I can! There's no doubt cuz it's in everything that you do

Either that, or I'm just messin' with you....
Here you go! (AND JUST LOOK AT ALLLLLLLLLLLLL THE WORDS I COULD'VE PICKED!)
I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride With sword and pistol by my side Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five But I am still alive.
I was a sailor. I was borne upon the tide And with the sea I did abide. I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed But I am living still.
I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide Where steel and water did collide A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and around and around
I fly a starship across the Universe divine And when I reach the other side I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can Perhaps I may become a highwayman again Or I may simply be a single drop of rain But I will remain And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again..
Actually I do love this one...very much. Not that I believe in reincarnation, per se.....I just love the imagery. And the four voices that sang it. Powerful stuff.

The dawn is breaking A light shining through You’re barely waking And I’m tangled up in you Yeah…
I’m open, your closed Where I follow, you’ll go I worry I wont see your face Light up again Even the best fall down sometime Even the wrong words seem to rhyme Out the doubt that fills my mind I somehow find You and I Collide
I’m quiet, you know You make a first impression
I’ve found I’m scared to know I’m always on your mind Even the best fall down sometime Even the stars refuse to shine Out of the back you fall in time I somehow find You and I Collide
Don’t stop here I’ve lost my place I’m close behind
Well even the best fall down sometime Even the wrong words seem to rhyme Out of the doubt that fills your mind You finally find you and I collide Finally find you and I collide You finally find you and I collide

You say you love me And you're thinkin' of me, But you know you could be wrong. You say you told me That you wanna hold me, But you know you're not that strong. I just can't do what I done before, I just can't beg you any more. I'm gonna let you pass And I'll go last. Then time will tell just who fell And who's been left behind, When you go your way and I go mine.
You say you disturb me And you don't deserve me, But you know sometimes you lie. You say you're shakin' And you're always achin', But you know how hard you try. Sometimes it gets so hard to care, It can't be this way ev'rywhere. And I'm gonna let you pass, Yes, and I'll go last. Then time will tell just who fell And who's been left behind, When you go your way and I go mine.
The JUDGE, he holds a grudge, He's gonna call on you. But he's badly built And he walks on stilts, Watch out he don't fall on you.
You say you're sorry For tellin' stories That you know I believe are true. You say ya got some Other kinda lover And yes, I believe you do. You say my kisses are not like his, But this time I'm not gonna tell you why that is. I'm just gonna let you pass, Yes, and I'll go last. Then time will tell who fell And who's been left behind, When you go your way and I go mine.
