Reputation aside, I've always found New Yorkers pretty polite and helpful. Not reserved of course, but if you need help, they offer it.

Quiet group this afternoon/tonight.
That's OK - I'm working on the NYT crossword puzzle while listening.

Just in case "Imagine" might inspire us to meditate on the war in Iraq or something...
an antidote: imagine, no gum on the sidewalk.

I'm still recovering from "Don't Scratch your Butt." Good grief.

Uh-oh.
Don't get me started on TSA and the airport "security" inspections!

Thanks, Doc. Imagine how much they'd have to pay to have that gum put there on purpose.

And fer sure, butt scratching is not limited to NYC!

We are so delayed in Massachusetts that we just heard the jazzy tubas. I'm not sure that's my cup of tea.

LOL Jay. It could be quite a bit to install gum anywhere at guv'mint contract prices, especially if Halliburton were involved.

Actually, Doc, the whole gum on the sidewalk thing started during the Roosevelt (FDR) administration, with the WPA----Wrigley Propagation Association.

Post by doctork on Dec 9, 2006 18:46:38 GMT -5
What is with the weather? Anj was suning in a T-shirt in Minnesota, but you're shivering in Florida.
Or is that just because you are "cold" when it is less than 70 degrees (my mother-in-law's story)?

well good thing that the airport is down in a low spot, means the rest of us don't get as chilly, but still way too cold for FLorida

and we were down in the 20's last night Doc, so that is way less than 70

Well, Doc, keep your mother-in-law out of the citrus trees and it shouldn't be a problem.

I am not in "orange" territory... so they are probably very safe. The farmers left north and central FLorida long ago to stay below the frost line...
