This is Pew research, no political slant to the data, but the data show that Covid deaths are higher in Republican-leaning counties compared to Democrat-leaning counties, with almost 80% of excess unnecessary deaths occurring in Republican counties. In my Congressional House district one of our state senators resisted the masking and the Covid vaccine; he died of Covid earlier this year. Those precincts elected another Republican last week (our Congressional House Democratic representative was re-elected), but the Democratic pick-up in a different House district was by a very close margin. www.pewresearch.org/politics/2022/03/03/the-changing-political-geography-of-covid-19-over-the-last-two-years/Total US deaths due to Covid just passed 1.1 million, and a majority of deaths after January 2021 could have been prevented by vaccination.

Fascinating. However, I don't find this surprising at all.
It almost falls under the heading "Hold my beer and watch this!" Darwin Awards.

I wasn't surprised either. The dialogue has been apparent since January 2021.
Anti-vaxxer: I'd rather die than get vaccinated Covid: OK
