Oh, there's no recovery yet. My wife took a fall last week and I had to cancel. We got final X-ray exams yesterday, showed no fractures in the hands or face. So I called and asked to get put back on the OR schedule. We'll see Monday, I imagine, what's going to happen. Well I am glad she is OK. Never a good time to take a fall is it! Nope

Yeah, and I'd wanted to get this thing out of the way in time to get rehabbed enough to drive up to TN for Storytelling the first weekend in October. Shoot, they've had my ticket money for three years!

When I was in school in Hawaii (Punahou School, class of 1965) our quarterback always kicked barefoot; he was our hero. He made it to the pretty-big time in college football at Michigan State, then became a teacher and football coach himself. Unfortunately he developed ALS and eventually died from complications of that illness. He was the subject of a movie "Quiet Victory."

"All y'all" is spread throughout the South, or at least I've heard it in NC, SC, GA, MS, AL. Maybe not NOLA or VA.

Congrats on Top of the Page Jay, too late for the Mega Millions though, as apparently one ticket was sold prior to the Billion Dollar drawing last night!

I heard there were 26 $1 million winners - also nothing to sneeze at!
Hmmm, snow sounds good when it is in the 90's in the PNW. In january, not so much.

Pat Donohue was at the two reunion shows along with Rich Dworsky and other former Shoe Band members. I think they are on the schedule for DC and NYC also. I thought the remarks GK made about Pat's skills were insulting in the extreme, but I guess they have overcome their differences. I don't think Gary Raynor (bass player for the Shoe Band) is included in the shows, don't know if there are hard feelings or he's just busy.

Does anyone tell stories Like GK does up in Jonesborough? Not quite like GK but many are equally talented, some even more so, plus much friendlier when you actually meet them. Jay, will you be going to the YarnSpinners?

Does anyone tell stories Like GK does up in Jonesborough? Oh, noone tells Lake Wobegone type stories really, although lots of stories are very personal, or about growing up in colorful places. I think there are any number of better tellers. But, they all have their own style, and that's just my personal opinion.

I did not know that Marfa was over 5,000 feet altitude.

What Jay says - I agree,
Of course with a weekly show, he can kind of continue the same stories and characters, with further developments of the same people. However, so di Kathryn Windham, and so do Donald Davis and Bil Lepp.

Jay, will you be going to the YarnSpinners? I imagine I'll get to Yarnspinners. It makes the whole experience more personal; just think of all the Tellers we've been able to visit with! And it's a good place to eat supper.

Of course I'm planning on Yarnspinners too!
And I just tried signing in as the new member, cannot do this on my regular computer, as it automatically greet me as doctork from this machine. Lost the show broadcast, but it's done anyway.
All y'all have a great week!
