Could someone please help me locate the name of or a source for a Garrison Keillor monologue I heard years ago. The topic was a chicken who fled the butcher block after it's head was chopped off and ran away.
It was one of the funniest things I've ever heard and I'd love for my son to hear it. Thank very much for any help you can give me.

There seem to be quite a few references to chicken chopping in the archive. Could you be more specific?

I only heard it once years ago and my memory is lacking, but what I remember is they were butchering chickens, and one, after having it's head chopped off, didn't die but went running down the road, into town, up the steps and into the front door of something (a restaurant, barber shop?) through the building and out the back door and kept running. His descriptions of the visual of the chicken and the people's reactions were hysterical.
I spent some time in the archives too but didn't find what I was looking for. Thanks for replying.

That might be enough to jog a memory... I'll ask him over the weekend.

Well, Garrison said he remembered it vaguely, but couldn't think of the date. More than likely he was preoccupied with Bonnie's rehearsal. I'll keep looking.
