Hey Jay, so how was the joint birthday celebration last week-end? Does it seem like it has been 11 years?

"Glory of Love" - reason enough alone to watch Bing Crosby on that remake of The Philadelphia Story.

There aren't many people in Wyoming, and ever fewer to be found in NoVa (Northern Virginia, vs RoVa or Rest of Virginia where there are probably zero from Wyoming).
I think RoVa is a Yankee term.

The Birchmere! I have tickets there for Tom Paxton and John McCutcheon, but it was postponed from last fall to later this year. Lots of great concerts at the Birchmere.

Yes, last weekend was pretty calm. Everyone was playing ball, so there weren't any parties. We'll be getting together tomorrow afternoon for a little cook-out and Family gathering. And you're right, dw; it sure doesn't feel like 11 years, I feel older than that.

But everything I feel, feels kinda old. WD40 doesn't always penetrate and lubricate.

Generally I feel pretty healthy. I had so many medical problems from my 20's through my 50's that in comparison, I'm doing great now. I certainly never expected to live this long.
Maybe there is something to what you say DW - you are as young as you feel. Or perhaps after multiple life-threatening illnesses, a few aches and pains "aren't that bad." I feel lucky to be able to continue to do work I love. I wouldn't have thouhgt that was possible.

Well, it will help having things opening up. It's a drag when everything is shut off and shut down like it has been this past year. Our Sizemore Reunion in KY is definitely a go in July. And other things. So I just need to be all therapized and back in shape to take advantage of them.

In case people need something to do, Bill and the Belles are having an album release party/broadcast at 8PM ET after this show. They will be coming from the Floyd Country Store in Virginia. On the FCS YouTube or Facebook page is where you will find them. Their new banjo/uke/vocal girl is from Jensen Beach, which is kind of cool. Anyway, check them out if you care to.

Nope, she's too young for my crowd. I'm not even familiar with her last name, which is pretty distinctive. Being from such small areas I'm just used to grasping at whatever distinction by association I can.

I'm looking forward to Brandi Carlile in August, MerleFest in September, then Storytelling and hopefully the TCM cruise in October. Amber and our two grand-daughters are hoping to visit us here in August. Yup, things are looking up! But one reason the cruise is doubtful Jay is your crazy governor. He has declared no entity can require masks for work/participation, while the feds and the cruise lines themselves require 98% of crew and 95% of pax be immunized if they are to be allowed to sail. Some cruise lines are changing to ports in the Bahamas or Caribbean islands, but ours is still scheduled out of Miami.

Should be interesting to see who wins... the Trump protege' or the national Center for Disease Control ... which way will politics fall??

It's really the governor vs the cruise industry. Over the long term there could be some Constitutional issues, as there is precedent for states/cities imposing quarantine limits in the interest of public health. That was fairly routine when I was a medical student.
CDC has no enforcement authority, they only make recommendations, as was well-demonstrated when they identified "TB guy" who defied CDC recommendations not to have his destination wedding in Italy some years back. TB Guy went on to expose hundreds of people, nothing CDC could do.
Possibly it's more Trump and QAnon powers and political greed vs the rights of private companies to run their businesses as they please, within legal limits. Funny, the importance of private business USED TO BE a Republican basic tent!
