I'd never ever have thought myself pleased to see Tom Brady's team win, but it is a lady's prerogative to change her mind, right?
One of the Buccaneers, Ali Marpet, is a graduate of my alma mater, a small (2,200 students) private liberal arts college that competes in the NCAA Division III athletics; the pros don't even scout Division III! D3 schools do not award athletic scholarships; student athletes have to qualify on their academic merit alone, and the last time our school had any player enter the NFL was in the 1930's. Student athletes at Hobart who have the talent and ambition to go professional usually transfer to a Division I school.
Ali is Jewish to boot! Jewish professional football players - well that's a pretty small club.
So I enjoyed watching the game, watching #74 protect Tom Brady, rather like he used to guard the door at frat house parties back in college...
