Thought I would do the honors even though it is unlikely that I will be back in time to catch the show (whichever you choose) at the normal time. The Facebook page where a show of the week is posted is www.facebook.com/PrairieHomeCompanion. The teaser for what will be posted is this: Prudence Johnson (and Andy Stein and Beausoleil) will join the classic rebroadcast tomorrow evening (link will appear here at 5pm CT). Make a meatloaf along with some potatoes and throw a backyard listening party (share pics here) . . . for your own home version of the annual streetdance, complete with a blue tooth speaker. . . enjoy a song from a previous appearance as a teaser. youtu.be/uv2gN8WJBKsMy guess is it will be the September 24th, 2005 show. If so, the street dance afterwards had entertainment from Jack Knife and the Sharps. I bet they really cut up during the show! Enjoy and leave some neat comments, whatever happens!

I plan to be here on this thread/there tuning in to the show. I think the linked show sounds great
I finished my last day of my current contract a couple hours ago - had to stay late to make sure all the paperwork, charting and inbox were cleared. So now I am on vacation!

Hi Jay!
I tuned in a minute or two after 3 pm (PT, 5 pm CT) and it still started at the beginning, so I'm at "Meryl Streep Are You Lonesome Tonight."

The old show sounds real good. Otherwise, I'm hot and mad and hungry; the AC is messed up, a recurring problem in a year-old unit, that I've been tending as directed. So I'm at least trying to eat before the AC guy gets here.

Right, Lonesome on right now. I was a minute or two late as well.

This particular show was just before I began listening every week. I became a "regular" in 2006 when I learned about and signed up for the second cruise, which is when I found the original Chatterbox discussion board.
I hadn't noticed or heard about the first cruise, but my ears perked up when it was mentioned and it was sailing out of Seattle for Alaska. We had been living within sight of the Alaska Ferry since 1999 but had never been to Alaska so that was a major reason we signed up for the cruise.

I was at the old Chatterbox for a while, but I don't know when I'd started. I'd been listening since the early 80's, when we were in Birmingham.

When I clicked on the first link I got a "Private video - you must sign in" message so I clicked on the second link I am able to listen. Is there supposed to be a video? Or a place for commentary and photos? GK's post says "Send pictures of your BBQ."

Guess what awaited me when I came home from Whidbey this morning?
A big box which contained a new 6 string acoustic guitar! Gen and Deidra must have put their heads (and wallets) together to surprise me.

Good - you will be able to cool off. The Loon Calling Contest! I remember that. I bet the time I went to the opening show wasn't too long after the first Alaska cruise, because JayStar and I were both on that cruise, but we hadn't met yet. We got together at the Opening Show a year or two later, along with gailkate, slb2, Patty and maybe a couple others.

Oh I really like Andy Stein, what a good guy, as well as a great musician! We met on the cruise when his stateroom was just down the hall from ours. He has a son the same age as Spencer (I forget his name); Spencer was on the cruise with us and those two became friends so we were always crossing paths.

Here's the rundown for the show we just listened to. Note the bottom where is says the copyright is to MPR 2018. I think it belongs to GK, but they split in 2017. We culd use an answer to life's persistent question here. When I clicked on the rundown to review it, the show audio went off. Ah well, nearly over anyway.
Have a good week.

I was at that show and remember it well, not entirely with fond memories either. To be honest, I'm glad those days are behind me. But at the same time, it was a great line-up and I miss those shows!
