So after much speculation, my local public radio station has announced that they are replacing the reruns of "Live From Here" and thus eliminating a tradition I have kept for nearly 40 years.... a date on the radio on Saturday night.
Live From Here with Chris Thile ended production of new content in May. The last local broadcast of Live From Here is Saturday, September 12 on WFSU, and Sunday, September 13 on WFSW. The new programs will be 6:00 p.m. ET – It's Been a Minute with Sam Sanders and 7:00 p.m. ET – The Moth Radio Hour
I have never heard of Sam Sanders, and have heard of "The Moth". But neither of them would be my choice for now. Garrison puts a link up to listen to old A Prairie Home Companion episodes each Saturday. I'm inclined to listen to those during the traditional time, rather than continue to web cast the LFH reruns. Not sure how long they will keep featuring episodes but I think by now we have heard most of them twice if not more!!!
So just wondering about others?

I like Sam Sanders and "It's Been a Minute" but here in western Washington, I listen to that on Friday nights at 7 pm, usually while I drive home from work. I haven't listened to The Moth.
I have seen mention on GK's Facebook page of the traditional Saturday afternoon/evening old show broadcasts, but I am not exactly sure how that works. I guess just click on it when it starts? Then we can still talk to each other on the Show Thread?
Most of the time, I'd rather listen to an old APHC show (there were more than 40 years worth!) because we have seen/heard all the LFH shows several times; there weren't that many of them. Unless it's one with Jon Batiste or Paul Simon, I wouldn't miss that.

It's hard for me to organize it, but I'd like to listen to the old APHC shows when GK airs them and chat here. Although you know I rarely chat during the show. But I do listen and read the comments later.

I like the idea of the APHC reruns. They are still so fresh and comforting. That would be a grand backdrop for our weekly visits.
Our granddaughter has started usurping the usual Saturday afternoon time slot, as she doesn't remember the 40-yr tradition, and it's a good time for her parents to enjoy a "Play Date." I'll be here as often as I can.
