Do any of you all order pet supplies from Chewy?
I have ordered quite a few times from Chewy and have been quite pleased. They promise to deliver in 1 - 2 days and have always done so until today. Here is the sad story.
On Sunday night I ordered several cases of Pedigree dog food as well as a new Kong toy and the peanut flavored gooey stuff to put in it. As it was nearing 7 pm Wednesday and no sign of the Fedex delivery, I called Chewy to ask.
A very nice lady checked and said "That's odd - no scanning from Fedex, I'll look into that and get back to you. Meanwhile, how about if we give you a credit for what it would cost to go out and buy some food for your dog for right now?" I was a little anxious because Howard is all irate and saying I never should have ordered from Chewy, and I guess it showed because the lady said "Oh we don't want you to have such disruption and be dissatisfied, and it's true we did not meet our guarantee of 1 - 2 day delivery. I will refund the entire amount and you will still get your order but it may be another day. Meanwhile I'll still check on the delay and email you what happened."
I thought that was a very generous settlement so I said it would be fine. I told Howard of this and he was still grumpy! I was astounded - we are getting $88.05 of free dog food and stuff, and it is probably Fedex's fault, not Chewy. Howard is still pissed because the dog food we have on hand is this high quality (=expensive) dry food that Jerri doesn't like. I say if she is hungry, she'll eat it.
I have been using Fedex for more than 20 years and they have made only 2 mistakes so I won't be all "I'm not dealing with Fedex any more!" either. Especially after they got me my market research stuff for Leap Pad right on time in Kabul, when the address was something like "Kristin Crosby at guest house 2 blocks from Pakistani Embassy."
What do you think about Chewy and our free stuff agreement? I think it's fine.
BTW - the new Kong toy is an attempt to lure Jerri back into her crate as suggested by Lauren, our trainer. We'll tie the stuffed Kong to the wire wall at the back of the crate so she will have to go all the way inside and play with it for a while to get the peanut gooey treat.
