There's something wrong with your link. This one works.I got 58 points. Although I have a masters degree and my husband is a professional, I grew up in a small Midwestern town. My father was in the Air Force (an officer, yes, but from an even smaller Midwestern town) and my mother was a secretary. I have relatives who hunt and fish and belong to the Moose Lodge and the VFW and the Shriners. I have been to Branson. I've caught crawdads. I like catfish. I say "warsh". I do not think that I live in a bubble, but I am pretty sure that many of my neighbors do.

I've got a fairly thin bubble: 72. That's an interesting way of looking at American culture.

Scored a 59, here. I guess I'm in a reverse bubble since I haven't seen any of the TV or movies.

Jay, one of the commenters where I first saw this posted said that s/he thought it was the beer-drinking NASCAR fans who lived in a bubble. So maybe there is a reverse bubble.
Lirio, thanks for finding the link that works. I usually check them first, but I forgot.
My score was 55 - a little surprising for someone who has spent a lot of time in NY, CA and is a college-educated "elite professional." But I have a diverse history of where I have lived and worked, and my family history involves a fair amount of "rednecks" so I guess that counts for quite a bit.
Some of the questions seem to me they might have come from someone in a different bubble: Everyone lives in the same place for a long time? If your city is under 10,000 population it isn't a city? (NB: Sparta has 1,800; Winslow is 9,000; Crescent City is 2,000) Poverty doesn't count if it happened when you were a student? Is the author aware that doctors (those "high prestige professionals") often work 36 hours straight on their feet, and yes it makes you hurt all over? How about those of us females who went to school before they had women's sports, let alone, "letters"? I don't drink much alcohol at all, and haven't bought beer in the past year - but if I did, it would be Coors; I did live in Colorado a long time!
I feel real sorry for all those bubble-dwellers who have never been in a parade, even to decorate the float. They don't know how much fun they are missing!
The point about political debates and the Red vs Blue is well-taken but I kind of feel like Rodney King: "Can't we just all get along?" Even if we have different opinions? I do not believe in "If you are not for me, you are against me." I did not vote for either Mr. Trump or Sec. Clinton, (or for GWB for that matter) but whoever is elected, I am an American and he is still MY President and I am NOT his enemy.

but whoever is elected, I am an American and he is still MY President and I am NOT his enemy. This is pretty much where I am coming from. I wonder if it is our Air Force/Coast Guard childhoods? I mean, the military doesn't give you a lot of leeway in terms of following orders from ones commander.

Yeah, I felt like it was a reverse bubble, too. Apparently, the poorer you were/are the less bubble you have in this test. But seriously, who hasn't gone fishing in the last five years?!?

For me it is certainly a factor. Sometimes reference was made to something being a "command performance" - you gotta go if your CO says so. If you are medical school faculty and the Dean wants you to go with him to the state Capitol or appear with him on his TV show, well that is a command performance.
It's more than that to me though. When Tommy Thompson (GWB's Secretary of Health & Human Services) asked me to go to Afghanistan to work on his project, it never occurred to me to say "No thanks, it's a war zone, I have a family..." If asked by a cabinet secretary to serve my country, I do so, and I'm proud to help out. Even if it was GWB administration and I didn't particularly care for him. I respect the office and our government, even if it doesn't always work the way I would prefer.
BoatBabe, I haven't gone fishing in the last 5 years! I used to fish quite often with my dad when he was alive, but since I don't eat fish myself, and don't do well out in the hot sun, well I just haven't been fishing in ages. Many of my patients are fishermen - maybe I could get credit by osmosis?

I believe that giving a physical to a fisherman qualifies one as a Fisher . . . ;-)
