I'm rushing in and out, no time to respond to other threads as this test took so @#$%! long! offbeat.topix.com/quiz/16503/qidx1?no_cover=1I think it's 60 questions, some so easy a preschooler could answer them, but some tricky and infuriating. I missed one I miss whenever it comes up, being apparently no longer able to learn, and missed one I read incorrectly, and a couple more that I plain didn't know. Still they gave me a Ph.D, which in fact I do not have and don't expect to earn. That ship has sailed.

Yeah, I got PhD too. I think the test is overly forgiving. I got several wrong; I know nothing about geography or mathy topics.

I know nothing about geography or mathy topics. LOL. "Mathy" is my new favorite word. And then there were the things I got right purely by luck. No one ever taught me the names of moons or which planets have them. No one taught me who made his horse a member of the Senate. Lucky guesses got me through years of schooling. I used to feel a little fraudulent when rescued by guessing, but now I think it's good that I don't have any more clutter in my brain - how do people who know all the moons' names get through the day?

Sheesh! It wasn't the number of questions, but the time it took to download all of the ads! I gave up.

Well, I did spend a couple of years in grad school, but I don't think any of these items are things I learned in my courses.

The quiz designer correctly guessed my educational level since I do have a doctoral degree. Only there weren't that many science-type questions.
Oh well I do have a.Bachelor of Arts degree.
Masters irrelevant - nothing on business or public health either.

I don't think any of these items are things I learned in my courses. This seems to be a very common phenomenon. If college us teaches how to think, I'll take that over learning a lot of facts. NB: medical school teaches a whole lot of facts & how to think about and use them in caring for patients. K - 12 "education" seems a little heavy lately on facts and teaching to the test. I hope students still learn to think.
