It's 34 years since I attended the Dartmouth Alumni College with the Middle Age as the topic. It's where I learned about Mont Saint Michel and Chartres, which I finally got to visit a couple of years ago. Now comes this quiz to tell us our medieval professions. Kinda fun. www.playbuzz.com/gregs/what-is-your-medieval-profession

Mine said, "You like to create beautiful things with your hands and your mind, and you are not scared of hard work. You like to live in a world of beauty and happiness over greed and anger. You're the medieval equivalent of a fashion designer!" ALLLLL-Righty then. I could live with that, unless my head goes off if someone doesn't like my designs. That was a fun one. Thanks, Joe!

This is no surprise, I would be a witch doctor. Same as today, more or less (perhaps more "less").
//When you were young (back in the year 1457) you enjoyed rebel acts and some mysteries until you've found the dark and bewitching art of witchcraft. Now, you use your special set of skills to help and heal other people around you. Thank you, Doc.//
I have always been a born helper, and I am conscious of my healing aura, even when practicing "modern" medicine.
Oddly, while in college I really wanted to be a medieval scholar. That is, I wanted to study the Medieval Era, and get a PhD in Medieval Studies (my dislike of "History" notwithstanding). I loved visiting all those castles and medieval museums all over Europe, during that period when I had dropped out of high school. I have probably visited the Cluny Museum in Paris at least 50 times, and loved the town of Rothenburg aub der Taube in Germany (both places are rife with medieval history).
A PhD in Medieval Studies didn't seem to offer a lot of career opportunities, and I could not withstand a college major in history (which I guess was the appropriate BA precedent for that PhD). So I majored in Anthropology and went to medical school. Worked out OK.
Thanks Joe for posting. This was fun.

That's fascinating, Doc. A witch doctor.
Actually, I think the Medieval professions linked to each of us is fascinating. Jay, I wish that you had attached the description of your stable boy job. There is a familiarity in them.

I am undecided if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I'm leaning more toward a good thing. I mean, heck, in my medieval career I am energetic. In my true age, I am an exhausted old fart.
I am The Court Jester. You are very energetic and funny, you love to make other people laugh and feel goofy. You entertain people at a very dark, medieval time, and for that they are grateful. Your heart leads your life, and you just enjoy the ride. 'Tis most splendid!

And nobody I know would call our most favorite children's librarian "an exhausted old fart." Well, except maybe you. Your innate skills are perfect for your work life.
