Beautiful, Mike!
What are the long things that look like hay or something tied together?

I love your pictures, Mike!
Even the streets are so clean and orderly.
You and Emi look happy as clams.
Cheers!

It's so beautiful. Thanks for the pics.
We didn't have time to explore the city when we visited Shimoda. It's very charming. I especially like the view in the third picture.

What an array, Mike. I find some of the rough rocky islands - protuberances? - very moving. They look so prehistoric and yet topped by cheerful little trees trying to make a go of it.
The streets are western and yet oddly Japanese. Even without the signs, I think we'd know this was an Asian city. And that charming little canal! Is it fall there?
Best is the rushing water. Some years ago you posted pictures of water flowing over some lovely stones, so I know we share a love of rocks and water. What is the flower in the foreground of that beautiful composition in pic 12?
He said the hay stuff is rice drying, but I don't understand where the rice is.

Thank you all for the kind remarks.
Jane, the stuff that looks like hey is rice. After it's harvested they hang it to dry before separating the grain from the chafe.
gk, I'm not sure what the flower is, I'll try to find out.
Best regards, Mike
