Somehow, Henry made some serious changes to my computer. When I go to internet explorer, what comes up is google/UK. When I type in aol, it goes to a page that gives me all sorts of British news and the weather in London. I don't really want that.
When I type anything (like a post here), random words are pink and underlined. When I click on the word (like "husband") it goes to some tenuously related website like Harmony.com. (Trust me, I don't want another husband. One is more than enough.)
Also, every once in awhile, I get a website that will just suddenly appear that is "pickleplay". I'm hoping it is online video games, but I'm afraid to click on it as I once clicked inadvertently on something that seemed innocent while I was at work and severely infected my computer (AT WORK) with extremely nasty pornography.
Any suggestions?

I'm afraid Henry may have inadvertently installed malware on your computer. Read this.

Can I make it go away? Prayer? A dance with peacock feathers and a hatchet? Killing and burying a toad at midnight?
You got anything?

Do you have any anti-virus software on your computer (McAfee, Norton, AVG, etc.)? I'd run that first and see if it finds and quarantines it.

I also found this, but it talks about removing things from your Registry and I wouldn't want to mess with that unless I was very certain that I knew what I was doing.

Suggestion found on a techie website: Reboot in Safe Mode and do a System Restore to a date prior to when you noticed the infection. Sounds better than touching the Registry.

And this suggestion from another website: In your computer CONTROL PANEL in ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS find and remove anything named "Play Pickle". Then do a SEARCH on your computer and find and delete anything with the name "Play Pickle". ((remember to clean out your computer Recycle Bin also) they are an .exe file so antivirus wont find it. it is malware not a virus or trojan, etc. good luck.

And another (It's a little scary how many kids must have clicked on their ads to play a game):
Download, install and run the free version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
Click Updates > Check for Updates.
When the definition files have updated, click OK.
Click the Scanner tab > Perform quick scan > Scan.
If infections are found during the scan, the number of infections will be highlighted in red.
When the scan is finished, click Show Results.
Make sure that everything is selected, then click Remove Selected.
If you're prompted to restart to finish the removal process, click Yes.
=================================================================== Download, install and run the free version of SUPERAntiSpyware.
Click Check for Updates.
When the definition files have updated, click Close.
Click Scan your Computer > Perform Quick Scan > Next.
If infections or problems are found during the scan, a list will appear.
When the scan is finished and the scan summary window appears, click OK.
Make sure that everything in the list is selected, then click Next.
If you're prompted to restart to finish the removal process, click Yes.

That last one came from a thread on the Tech Support Guy Forum. You might try posting the specifics of your problem and see if you can't get some free assistance from people who know a lot more about computers than me.

In the meantime, midnight is approaching. Do you have your toad handy?

No, I think we have to call Geek Squad. I'm so ashamed. But the malware has me stumped, agitated and in a pickle.
