Possibly even "semi-oblated spheroids" in the interests of "GC" (that is, Geometrical Correctness)?)
I am sure that you have heard by now that "Easter" is "Under Attack" by "The Forces of Darkness" . . .
So . . . Waddahya think?
Here are my initial thoughts on the [matter] . . .
(gleaned from an earlier email)
Yeah, I read about that Idiotic "PC" Teacher/Incident in Leona Salazar's column . . .
The thoughts and alleged actions of that "teacher" are so stupid, on so many levels, (even beyond lack of a basic knowledge of geometry terms) that it would be difficult to count them all. My reply to this idiocy would go something like this:
===
(Beta Version):
1) The root word for "Easter" is the name of a pagan god or goddess. (Note: I'll have to look that up.)
2) Eggs, rabbits and candy have nothing, whatsoever, to do with the Christian celebration of the Resurrection. Nor do yellow Peeps vaguely resembling baby chickens. (Much as reindeer, Santas, elves, decorated trees, overcommercialization and debt generation have nothing to do with Christmas. Xma$, yes. Christmas, no.)
I think that the "powers that be" in that school district need to give this brilliant "educator" a raise before she threatens to go on strike and deprive all of her charges of her enlightenment and illumination. (If you could drag them away from some Neo-WiccanDruid conclave long enough to take a vote.)
===
So . . . Have you ever heard the little Holiday tale of the "slow" girl who brought an empty L'eggs container (one that was supposed to contain candy and whatnot) to class to represent The Meaning of Easter? Turns out she was using the empty plastic egg to represent the empty tomb.
I submit that, henchforth, it could also be used to represent that "teacher's" head.
---
Dang. I hope I wasn't too harsh.
Really.
