Spectacular! Don't you just love Science Friday?
And where exactly did we get the idea we were at the pinnacle of the animal kingdom, just below the Angels??!!!

Aren't they beautiful and amazing? Animals are so much more admirable than most people.
And the man looks absoulutely delighted! I think I'd be scared.

I don't know where to put this, but it's going to be my new go-to whenever I'm feeling low. Note that both species - dog and baby - are pretty strict about the rules of the game. Baby has to accept the ball and actually bounce it - practice makes perfect in any good sport. www.dogwork.com/fthdbkb8/

Can't go wrong with a dog and a baby!
Well, I suppose some actors have refused to share the stage/screen with a dog or a baby.

That was cute, Gail.
But more than that, you brought this thread back to life, and there are some Really Cool things here that I've forgotten.
What a treat.

Oooh, me and Jay love Waddie Mitchell! He is at the National Storytelling Festival every 2 - 3 years, and we never miss a performance. In fact that has always been the case for me, even before Jay started coming to Storytelling.
You know who else is a cowboy poet? Ian Tyson, who Howard and I went to see a couple weeks ago in Prescott. Ian is at the Elko Cowboy Poetry Festival almost every year.
Nevada is "right next door" to Arizona, but let me tell you that Elko is NOT close. Unfortunately.

As I browsed Jay's site, the first poem I clicked on was a PETA nightmare. Then BB's vid of the tale of Puma (?) mad me sad, so I didn't listen to the second. I had a friend at work who wrote cowboy poetry and performed several times at our awards events, so I know these works can be delightful. I suspect my karma leads me to tragic animal stories. Here's a cat sho sees himself as the ultimate tragic figure. You decide. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q34z5dCmC4M&feature=youtu.be

That's the same Ian we've know for years, as "Ian and Sylvia"

This turns out to be a favorite of mine.
The ultimate oxymoronic statement, "Jest give me clear blue skies, and 18 inches of rain."

Well, Fer Cryin' Out Loud! That's the same Ian we've know for years, as "Ian and Sylvia" Yep, and Ian is still out there in Alberta. Cowboy-ing, which is why he is now a cowboy poet. //Think I'll go out to Alberta, Weather's good there in the fall I got some friends that I can go to workin' for, Still, I wish you'd change your mind, If I'd ask you one more time But we've been through that a hundred times, or more...// The more I listen to his new stuff, the better I like Ian Tyson; he is a great songwriter and poet. The "old stuff" is great too - "Four Strong Winds" was named the best Canadian song of the 20th century!
