Do you wear yours short of long? Body hair? Beards and mustaches? Pesky chin hairs? The musical?
What do you think about hair?

I bet Jane and Hart and I could do a lovely chorus of "hair, hair, long beautiful hair" - where IS Hart? Is she on vac? Jane? I should ask in the missing persons thread, I guess.
My hair is many lengths, the longest halfway down my back. soon Jerry will do his straightline cut across the bottom and I'll be good till September. If I can't get my hair totally off my neck I'm miserable in summer. Bald might be good, too.

Somewhere in the depths of my basement I have a 45 of The Cowsills' rendition of Hair. I could definitely join you in your chorus.
In the past year I have gone, in increments, from tousled curls touching the tops of my shoulders to quite short. The longest pieces are about three inches and are in the front and on top. The shortest pieces are an inch. I know this because I just pulled a ruler out of the desk drawer and measured them.
I have no beards, mustaches, or pesky chin hairs. I shave my legs. That is what you meant by body hair, is it not, slb?

I haven't gone missing, gk, just silent. I've been visiting assisted living facilities for my mother. This obviously has nothing to do with hair, but there you have it.
My hair style makes me look like a storm trooper, according to my grandson. I'm assuming he means Star Wars rather than WW II.

And I saw the original "Hair" on my honeymoon in Chicago, which tells you how long I've been married. I also saw a version at MSU and one at the Barn Theatre in Augusta (near Kazoo) which was all nudes, all the time. My daughter was in her community college production and sang "Black Boys" in a black leather mini-skirt and fishnet stockings. So I have a long history with "Hair."

Darn close to waist-length, now, because it hasn't been cut in two years--it was chin-length, then. In the cooler months I wear it French braided, with tendrils around my face and neck. In the hot months, like now, I twist it up (while still quite damp, because it's so heavy that it slips right back down when it's dry) into a ballerina knot on the crown of my head. When I take it down at night, the hair that was coiled and held with a scrunchy will still be just as damp as when I put it up. No beard. No mustache. I do shave my legs every day, even though it's quite blonde and you can't see it, I just like the way they feel when they're smoooooooooooooooooth. Griz has gorgeous grey hair. Until two weeks ago, it was just about as long as mine, but the heat got to him and he decided he was tired of the tails and braids and all and got it cut short again. Now he looks like Sean Connery did in "The Hunt for Red October." (drooooool....) He's always had a beard and mustache and I don't ever want him to shave them off--I've seen his pics when he was clean-shaven (19!) and his face was just ordinary, but WITH them....he's gorgeous. I've seen women flirting shamelessly with him all these past 25 years. (He is totally oblivious.) And Betsy has the prettiest hair of all of us. It looks almost black until you see it in the sunlight, and then you see this beautiful warm deep red tones, like mahogany. Her hair is in a little Dora the Explorer bob now, and growing fast, because she donated twelve inches of hair a few months ago to Locks of Love, and says she'll do it for the rest of her life. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

So are we to infer that Jane and Betsy have the same hair style? There's a nice symmetry to that, bringing Shakespeare's 7 stages of man to mind. As we age, we go back to having our hair cut around an inverted bowl?

Where do I begin... In high school it was long and wavy. I have naturally curly hair thanks to my mother. Color -- brown. During my 21 years in the Navy it was worn in accordance with regulations -- short. For many of those years I had a mustache. For a while, when it was still authorized I had a beard too. Strangely, my beard was red. After retiring from the Navy I went through a phase of doing what I couldn't do while in the military; I grew my hair long. One day an attractive lady told me that my long hair made me look like a homeless person; I went to the barber the same day. Now, age 53, hair is short (not crew cut short) and still wavy brown but with grey sideburns. I wash it with shampoo but no rinse/conditioner. Towel dry, work in a small dab of Brylcream and comb it back -- I'm good for the rest of the day. ![](http://media-files.gather.com/images/d526/d918/d743/d224/d96/f3/full.jpg) This is what my hair looks like now days. But why is there a double standard on gray hair? Men with gray hair get teased much more often than women. Perhaps a new law to create more fairness in hair is in order. I agree. It's completely unfair that men who are grey are distinguished and sauve. Women who are grey are old hags. ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png) Oops! Sorry gk and books! ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png) But you know what I mean. I prefer the shock of grey in my hair, but my same-aged friends can't quite understand why I haven't colored my hair yet. Like, what am I waiting for? I'm waiting to turn into distinguished like my husband. The unfairness of it all!
