MODIFIED MODIFIED 15 minutes after I set up this poll. ProBoards upgraded its server (Notice the gradient blue bars instead of the solid blue bars.). One of the modifications in the upgrade gave more choices in polls (more about that later), and, while doing so, made all choices in my poll the same. I'm not gonna say that ProBoards is Communistic or of the "New World Order", but they definitely put a damper on the democratic process in prarieCHATTER. Anyway, the poll is locked (because it is useless and stupid-looking), BUT that doesn't stop us - nosurreee!! Just state your preference in a post, and I'll manually count them on April 12th. I know it may be soooo old-fashioned, but you see how technology has treated us so far on this thread. (Also, I will guarantee no pregnant nor hanging chad.) Also, one vote per member, please (and tell the other characters with different user names that live at your same IP address (WE know who you are! ) to not vote so this can be done fairly. VOTE HERE! Choices: This is size 1.This is size 2.This is size 3.This is size 4.THANK YOU! Original PostI finally remembered to ask ProBoards how I could change the font size of quotes and found that it was very simple (It's an administrator function.). So I'm just gonna report and let you decide how large you want the quotes to be. This will be an almost permanent change - not a weekly preference type of thing. The poll will be open until April 12. Thanks for "hanging in there" during our "small quote font" time. We hope you now find other member's words easier on the eyes from now on...

Is there a way to make it the same size as the regular text? It's easy enough to change the font size in your browser, but it's more difficult to get it right when there are many different sizes on a page. Also, in your poll, all I see are four different options for size 1, i.e. there seems to be no difference in the choices. You're doing great work, though! Keep it up! ;D

I agree with Thomas. Why not have the quotes the same size as the regular posts? The smaller size did make it a bit harder to read, but I see no need for them to be larger than the post they are included in.

See modification on first post. (It looks like the same size as the posts is size 2.)

I vote size 2 in this poll for the quote size. I like the font size.

Is this a gag? Are you all trying to make me crazy? It all looks the same. It is the same. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Just because I gotta go number one right now, it’s no reason not to put my full support behind number two!
Could we do a primary election first, then a general election? Or, perhaps a caucus? We could all gather in the cyber prairieCHATTER town hall and discus the differences between #1 and #2. I don’t even want to touch #3. Then after we come to an agreement on which number we support we could nominate that number as “Our Number”.
We’ll need to do some campaigning, and we’ll need some catchy slogans: When you’re number two, you try harder! (Hmmm, that sounds familiar).
Uh oh, I gotta go… more later
Mike
P.S. I vote for #2

Size 2 works for me for all posts and quotes. Actually, size 3 or size 4 work, as well. Don't you just hate agreeable transplanted midwesterners?

This has nothing to do with font size, but I'm guessing that Trusty might check here to see how the voting is going. When I click on the link to get the most recent posts, the most recent one I'm getting is Trusty's Political Potluck post from 10:53 last night. I know for a fact that a number of people have posted since then, but none of them are showing up in the list.
Baaaaaaaad server upgrade. Sit. Stay.

With the ProBoards update, the "New" functions are taking longer to kick in. If they still don't work after a couple of days, I'll be contacting them (along with the other million+ subscribers) and get them to work. Remember, on things like quote fonts, size matters!

Size 2, please.

I'm confused. The quote size trusty lists as "present size" actually looks bigger than what we have now. But then I've been OK with most of the font size, except sometimes the comments inside the quote function seem too small.
The subscripts are small, but then that's the way subscripts are sposed to be, right?
The AMA has a bunch of info on "health literacy" which they distribute to physician members to improve health communications. FWIW, they say larger font size is better. And the Medicare authorities have some requirements about font size - again, larger is better - for print material for that population.
I dunno - what everyone else says, and what trusty decides.
And what is with this "Characters remaining" box? Another upgrade. Things are always changing at uranus.

My other proboards site, of which I am the chief moderator, isn't experiencing any of this. We also aren't receiving any upgrades, either. It's a forum for Girl Scout leaders, just in case y'all thought I was two-timing you.

Also, one vote per member, please (and tell the other characters with different user names that live at your same IP address (WE know who you are! ) to not vote so this can be done fairly.I find this so sweet and touching. Trusty is worried about deranged Chatterers stuffing the ballot box. Don't Do It! Just get a grip on yourselves and PLAY FAIR! Actually, I still don't see the differences in font and I'm not sure if we're talking about the size of the quote box or the font of the quoted words. Because, as I may have hinted before, it all looks the same to me. I think the recent concern about size had more to do with color. Never use yellow, pink or lime. Pretend they don't exist and you'll be just fine. But, as DrK says, the older one gets the easier it is to read larger type, so I guess I vote for that, whatever it is.

I think everyone should have to pass an eye examination before their vote is counted. No fair cheating! Mike
