Thunderation!
The clock successfully made the change from daylight time to standard yesterday, all by itself. Now it's giving me Central Standard instead of Eastern Standard, even though my profile is set for "GMT-5 Eastern."
What have you done, Trusty; and why did you make him do it, booklady?

I don't.
Trusty, can you create a thread for odds and ends?
I posted a little thing about a radio programme which I thought may be of interest to some of our members on the end of someone else's thread rather than create a new one for a single posting.
"Odds and Ends" or "Bits and Bobs" would allow us to post something which neither warrants nor expects a response.

Good idea, Brit, but I think a separate category for odds & ends may overlap other categories a little too much. Why don't you start a thread under "Miscellaneous" in the Tools & Links section called "Bits & Bobs" and put your information in it? When you see where other members need your info in another thread, you can reference. or link, them to your Bit or Bob. The same can be done for APHC programmes under the Show Threads. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, Trusty. I went ahead last night and created a thread for brit under "Chatterbox Advisory Board." It's called "Nonce Posts."
I thought it fit better there than anywhere else, since it didn't necessarily have a link or deal with anything having to do with computers and I figured "Lives of the CB'ers" was designed for discussions.
Obviously if you think it belongs somewhere else, you can move it.

Breaking news - non-political.
A cargo ship loaded with fertiliser which has lost control is heading for a North Sea oil rig. 9 crew on board but Force 10 gale is hampering rescue for the crew. The oil rig crew have been air-lifted to safety.
That's scary.
Were are having horrendous storms all over the UK.

I see no scrolling news either. Maybe slb sees scrolling Planter's Peanuts. If not, she's getting so cryptic we'll have to establish a decoding committee.

Perhaps scrolling is the wrong term. I meant those cute little messages that flash by one after the other. I hadn't noticed them for a while. Obviously, my powers of observation are not up to snuff.

Am I going nuts or has the scrolling news at the top been missing for a bit and has now returned? No, you're OK and perfectly sane (So why are you here? ). Anyway, the "scrolling news" can only be found on the home page. It wasn't there for the longest time until I found some fresh stuff and reinstated it two days ago.

Well, THAT'S a relief!
In a similar vein, I walked into the staff restroom at work today and the lights went on automatically. I could have sworn that I'd always had to flip a switch. I asked one of my colleagues if they'd changed the light switch and she had no clue what I was talking about. I was beginning to worry about my memory.
Fortunately, another colleague confirmed the lighting change. It really takes so very little to make me happy.

Either that or she has a bladder the size of an elephant. Uhh Ohh. You've got my imagination going; that can be a dangerous thing. But I 'm still wondering what connection a bladder has to a light switch.
