Hey, you folks holding down the great Northwestern Frontier. I get Maria Muldaur's newsletter. In this latest issue she said that a tour of the Pacific Northwest is in the planning stages, being booked! Here is her website address: mariamuldaur.com/news.shtml
Go sign up for her newsletter and you'll get notified when the tour is announced, get the schedule, etc. She puts on a good show!

I am on her mailing list and was pleased to note her impending visit to our territory. I hope she brings her raincoat because (I know, not surprising) it has really been raining a lot, and quite hard. One can actually get wet walking from the office to my car right in front of the office.
Maria was great when we saw her in North Carolina, so I'm gonna recheck and nail down a specific date and tickets!

Is this the Maria Muldaur who sang Midnight at the Oasis?

Yup, though she really likes to be respected for her current bluesy "Bluesiana" work. IIRC, she did not like to name that song specifically, or "Don't You Feel My Leg" or one other which I forget. She referred to them as "the big 3 that she didn't want to name." However, she knows her audiences love them, so she does sing them.
Reminds of Rick Nelson's tune "Garden Party" and his sentiments about all his old time (early 1960's) big hits.
"If you gotta play at garden parties, I wish you a lotta luck But if memories were all I sang, I rather drive a truck"
Still, in the case of both artists, their old tunes were great ones.

Is this the Maria Muldaur who sang Midnight at the Oasis? Yes. More importantly (to my partying history) she was part of Jim Kweskin and the Jug Band! By the way, lirio, did you get my dulcimer e-mail? I used the address that's listed in the "Profile".

Yes, I did. I don't check that email very often, but I checked it tonight. Thanks! I bought my dulcimer from these people back in 1988 and it is shaped like the ones on their homepage. www.folkcraft.com/
