Like every assessment we've ever taken, this one has some problems - impossible choices, both answers right or both wrong, oversimplifications, etc. But I've always liked the model, even though I don't totally buy it: Somehow we do seem to think differently, whether or not it's actually due to the left/right dominance. I was going to tell you my results, but now I'm thinking we might guess each other's. So here's the test. After you get your result, guess what you think is likely for all of us and we'll share when we're done, ok? Since someone like me might not even notice the question for a while, I'll give this 3 days. en.blobla.com/bla/left-or-right-brain-test?ref=rs

Okay, I took it, and I think my result may be about right. Does it matter whether we're left-handed or right-handed?

Nope, although left-handed people are supposed to be more creative. I don't think that's even got pseudo-science behind it. The brain hemispheres really do seem to control different types of thinking/learning, so at least there's a hint of validity to the idea. Not that there's any proof this particular assessment actually works.
Hurry up, everyone! I've made my guesses about Joe, BB, K, Jane and Jay, because they're the people who've been consistent regulars. If anyone else chimes in, I know I'll have a sense of them, too.

left 45, right 55. I am less creative than I like to think.

Done here. Though I've never really understood the concept. A few of these questions could have gone either way. I guess that's what happens when you're a Gemini!

I will take the test in a minute, but I have done this before - in a professional setting, so there is likely some scientific merit - and I was very strongly one or the other, though I can't remember which one.
That is because I have some learning disability involving bipolar entities and Right-Left is the worst. Always changing: on your right hand the thumb is on the left, unless you duplicate the hand, then the thumb is on the right! And that foolishness about "the heart is on the left."
A pox on all of it!

OK I'm done too. Same as before only not quite so lopsided.
True to my form, by the time I got back here to type this note (probably took 10 seconds) I forgot the answer and had to go back and recheck.
I don't know about creativity but I have read that a disproportionate share of US presidents are left handed.

My daughter and grandson are both left-handed and both are very non-fanciful. However, both are extraordinarily conscientious. Maybe that means they are presidential material.

Okay, I took it too, and am kinda surprised but not really. Whew! Snuck in right under the time limit. Fortunately for me, I KNOW that I won't remember what my results were, so I sent myself a PM. Remind me.
My life is so fascinating at the moment, I can hardly keep track. Adventures. They are all adventures.

............ My life is so fascinating at the moment, I can hardly keep track. Adventures. They are all adventures. Perhaps at some point the rest of us could get a little synopsis, something to brighten our drab, hum-drum existence? In the meantime, as long as you don't have to dive out your office window into the boat basin, you're doing ok.

PS: I knew what my results were, yesterday and years ago. I just can't remember whether the name is Right or Left. See, it's like this. You are on a Boat, where it is sensible. Port is always port, starboard is always starboard, no changing every time you turn around. This Right-Left business, where it is never consistent, well that is just silly and makes my life difficult. Ordering X-rays for example. Just take a picture of the one that hurts, what difference does it make if I order right or left? The tech will label it, they are experts at Right and Left.

You betcha, Babe, I could go for some adventure. Now that I've reached my own deadline, I'm not sure how to set this up. I can't do columns, so this might be messy. These are MY guesses, not the scores we got. ....................................Left/organized, linear, logic .........................Right/verbal, creative, holistic, intuitive Joe 70 30 Jane 40 60 Jay 60 40 Babe 40 60 DrK 40 60 Do you see a pattern here? When it came down to numbers, I found myself waffling, so these are just the splits as I perceive them. For one thing, I took the thing twice and came up with different scores, so it's obviously fluid. I found an article that's pretty clear, especially as it points out there's no better or worse, and that we're all a mix. "Left brain thinking is verbal and analytical. Right brain is non-verbal and intuitive, using pictures rather than words. The best illustration of this is to listen to people give directions. The left brain person will say something like “From here, go west three blocks and turn north on Vine Street. Go three or four miles and then turn east onto Broad Street.” The right brain person will sound something like this: “Turn right (pointing right), by the church over there (pointing again). Then you will pass a McDonalds and a Walmart. At the next light, turn right toward the Esso station.” ucmas.ca/our-programs/whole-brain-development/left-brain-vs-right-brain/

55/45 here, and if I took the test over it might be split right down the middle. Like I said, Gemini. You don't know who you're going to get, the good Twin or the bad Twin.

You nailed score, which is 60/40 for Right/Left brain. Last time I took it I was a bit more right brain, maybe 70/30.
That always seemed odd to me as I don't think I am very creative, and my entry into "the sciences" (that is, pre-med) was via my math ability. Medicine is an art as well as a science, but science and linear thinking predominate.
However, the gestalt or gut feeling is important too and I never ignore "that little voice in my head."

The first time I was 30/70; the 2nd was 60/40.
I'm not very mathematical nor linear, but what interests me is that they put language in the right brain category along with math. We are all very verbal and word-oriented so what's with that? ( It's true, though, that I always remember melodies and the totality of the instruments, lyrics only so-so.) I see a connection with the MBTI scores we did a while ago. The holistic and intuitive view sees forests before trees, like that example of giving directions. All of this stuff is tantalizingly true but still not quite right. We may not be Geminis, but we're a mix, for sure.

I was 60/40. I thought I had kept the page, but it has disappeared. I'm pretty sure it was 60 right, and 40 left. I'm really not very organized.

You nailed it for me, gk! 40/60
40 left, 60 right. Right. Or, correct!
