Wow, it's really beautiful. Maybe one of us will win that prize and take a trip to Japan.
Fuji reminds me of Rainier - it's often invisible behind the clouds, but when you can see it people say "The mountain is out!"
Presumably both mountains are always out there, but it is special when we can see them.

The clouds and odd light make it all seem to run together. breathtaking.

Fascinating halo effect in some of the pictures of Fuji, especially the third from the end. Some of the earlier pictures of Fuji work very well, too. I especially like the way the trees in the third one frame the ridges and the mountain.

Thank you all for taking the time to look at my pictures and make such positive comments. Fuji reminds me of Rainier - it's often invisible behind the clouds, but when you can see it people say "The mountain is out!" Presumably both mountains are always out there, but it is special when we can see them. Doc, that's exactly how it is here. Many amateur and professional photographers in Japan are obsessed with getting pictures of Mt. Fuji. There are books dedicated to where to go to get unique pictures of the mountain in all four seasons. Everyone is trying to get that perfect sunset of sunrise or moon behind Fuji or the reflection of the mountain in a lake or pond. it's an endless quest and I am one of the obsessed! All the best, Mike
