I'm thinking I need a CD - or several. That music takes you to another plane.

Howard Levy was on the show yesterday. Now, here's a Harp Player!

I went looking for Stuart Duncan, who played dueling fiddles with Andy Stein tonight, and found a WHOLE treasure!
Who knew NPR was posting these Great Tiny Desk Concerts?!?!?
This is like having a personal concert, with great sound.

Here's a new one by our own Brandi Carlile, written by the guitar playing twin:

I've told you that we have institutionalized our Music Hour, which is absolutely never to be sacrificed for any reason Whatosever. Well, today we went out to lunch with cousins who live about an hour away, came home so stuffed and logy that we couldn't give proper atteniton even to Alvin and the Chipmunks. But last night we listened to a CD called Very Early Joan, songs recorded at concerts when Baez was about 20. This one she asks the audience to help with - they have to come in with "Hallowed Be Thy Name." I think even Jane will love it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1cSFAU8mPI

Good one, Gail!
Bonnie Raitt just came out with a new album after forever.
"Slip Stream." Like jets or boats, she said on Fresh Air, it's the stream that takes you along without so much difficulty. Sorta like Jimmy Buffett's "Follow in My Wake."

Sorry, Jimmy's song is really called "Barometer Soup."

Great tunes, BB. I kind of wish Bonnie had demanded more of her back-up band, though. Don't they seem a bit monotonous?

I agree, Gail. I'll bet that tune gets pumped up both in audio and tempo when it is performed onstage in front of an audience.

And in that same venue, here is The Star Spangled Banner like you've never heard it.
Great original chords, and felt-for-generations spirit:

You'd be surprised how many of us there are! There's website that has a long list. Sadly, I'm not on it. It's just for famous non-believers.

;D ;D ;D
Yeah, Science was Real yesterday, when they told us that margarine would save us from being killed by butter.
And Science is Real today now that they are telling us that those chemicals in margarine will kill us and butter is whole and natural and required by the body.
Some parts of "science" are standard. Anyway, we think they are now:
On the other hand, I'll bet some of those Christian folks are having a melt-down over the "Jesus said, "My wife . . . ' " in that tiny newly-found papyrus strip.
