The filly Rags to Riches won the Belmont! By a neck. First time in almost 100 years that a filly won.

filly won? first one in almost 100 years? wonder what that means I was watching the Belmont Stakes instead of listening to the show. Usually these races are all colts (boy horses). If a filly (girl horse) runs, she doesn't usually win. So, to be correct, it's the first win by a filly in the Belmont in 102 years.

Did you say "You Go Girl!" ??

Do you think that bodes well for Hillary? I mean, setting a precedent for fillies winning?
ahem. I'm at 262 words, so I took a break.

It's a diversity workshop I attended. It's suppose to be a personal annalysis, my first, in my own, biased words! It was given by Eddie Moore, Jr..

Do you think it'll affect me negatively that I'm sipping a vodka 7 while I write?

This music should be inspiring to your writing

It's certainly soothing. But not exactly inspiring.

Did you say "You Go Girl!" ?? Of course, as did everyone else watching the race. The commentators were all "Battle of the Sexes." And perhaps it is a metaphor, or maybe a sign, about our political future,

All quiet here - we're just listening I guess.
How was Daytona?

Daytona was nice, got some body surfing in... no sunburn cause I lathered up with SPF 30 - 3 times a day (wonder if that equals 90??)

My kids always loved to go to Daytona, drive on the beach, they thought that was so cool.

yes Doc, they still allow that in parts, but now they have a couple of areas that are closed to the public (but they still let vendors and beach patrol drive along). The beach is very narrow at high tide in spots and almost too skinny for people and all the beach chairs

was nice to see the Shuttle Atlantis go up in person... the kids thought it was neat especially to hear the thunderous roar so many miles away and the sonic booms

Hello, all. I can't listen because the headphones are broken and the radio is not allowed to compete with the blasted TV ( ). Like slb, I've been writing and I just lost a hunk of rewrite to a screen freeze. This annoys me some. How's the show been?

Those launches are impressive. The kids haven't seen one live, but they did tour the Space Center and saw one of the shuttles there on the pad. Then when it took off a few days later, they had their pix they had taken to show off at "Show and Tell" in school.

I missed the first part of the show because of the horse race (yeah the filly was cool - and very fast), but it's been good. I'll catch the re-broadcast in the morning.
