I don't know, this Wilco sounds kind of New Agey, old head-trippey. Must be a lot of old hippies in the audience; they seem to appreciate it. At least it ain't metal. Well OK, the jig is up. I am an aged hippie. No regrets.

I'm having trouble swallowing when I think of graduation and the empty nest that is going to follow in a couple of months -- and it's not anything like what Gail has! Haven't heard any cowboy poetry readings, but my great aunt Dora was a cook on a dude ranch and had some of her poetry published, including a cowboy one! I guess we'll survive. Everyone else does, right? And Spencer is going to college only 50 miles away.

This is the best Guy Noir in awhile. Of course down here we're too far south for lilacs; it's night blooming jasmine and gardenia time.

Hey, DW. Try not to inhale too deeply up there. Still pretty hazy?

Jay, are there fires near Jensen Beach? The news showed only south Georgia and Lake City. Bad enough, and still closer than anyone would like.

Never too bad around here for fires, doc. We're mostly open savannah and reclaimed Everglade prairie. We get small ones, though, that will add to whatever smoke and haze comes down from up north of us.

Was a very hazy day in NOrth Florida, lots of lingering smoke from the fires. We had a day out anyway.. thought we might get a thunderstorm but just got the thunder so far... bye the way, hooray for ketchup being in the line up tonight...

My aunt lives in Daytona, and says her asthma is acting up, but the air's not nearly as bad as a few years ago when it was burning nearby on both sides of I-95.

If Paris really does go in jail, which she hasn't yet, she won't be exposed to anything she hasn't done before, just with a different group of people.

Yesterday's news editorial cartoon showed two parents lamenting over their protesting daughter. Her protest sign read: Free Paris Hilton.

We had a letter to the editor in our local newspaper about GK's weekly column. The letter writer felt that GK was too heavy into Bush Bashing.....

We had a letter to the editor in our local newspaper about GK's weekly column. The letter writer felt that GK was too heavy into Bush Bashing..... Our newspaper doesn't carry his column But the Letters to the Editor seem almost evenly divided - Bush bashers, vs Bush supporters. Some list to the left though, this is Western Washington.

Now you've just daggered my heart, and me half way to North Dakota to surprise me. You didn't tell me you had other wimmin.javascript:add(%22%20:-[%22) p.s. Does this show up on all y'all's screen as an emoticon? 'cause it doesn't on mine. And yet yours in the quote and other people's emoticons appear as emoticons. I'm confused. Well, that's probably beside the point but...

It doesn't show up on my screen as an emoticon either.
I'm confused too, but never mind.
Glad you made it to the show thread, Seattle Taz.
