I hope Thomas returns soon to clear this up. In the meantime, I'm enjoying TOTP status.

I'd make a well-founded guess at this point (while trying to remember when the photo became available to us), but then I'd have to find a picture to post and learn how to do it. I know many of you could explain it very well one more time, but I just don't want to do it right now.

The illustrious (or not, depending on your viewpoint) GK?

OOOOOOOOOOoooooooo, good guess, Jane...but no.
I'll make it a little easier for you, since the guesses have been male...this is a female.
She grew up to be incredibly beautiful.
She's someone whose style and look I have emulated for some time now (which is no help since none of you know what I look like...but I digress.)
And she's still alive.

And she went on to do commercials for hair color (?)...
I know, I'm just trying to make it last a little longer.

My previous responses were a quote attributed to her...

I don't THINK she did any hair color commercials. But she has voiced some commercials. Hmmm, trying to think if she ever said what you said she said....is that what you said?

Very good, Thomas. She did indeed say that. As you said.
I like it. So totally her nature.
But then, I like HER.

I remember one where she was lounging in a white robe - it may have been for a lotion of some sort, come to think of it.
Google both parts of the quote - you'll find it.

I like ALL of the quote. And I agree with it. I remember that white robe thing.... I think she's still beautiful. And her bio--both volumes of it--is one of my favorite books.

I've known that quote for a while - it appeals to my "language of opposites". One of my favorite responses to someone who says "I'll be right back" is "I'll be left front." Sometimes when I'm on the road with my wife, I start reciting all the billboards backwards. Drives her nuts...

hahahahaha! Good thing for the Mrs. then that the Burma-Shave signs are mostly gone.... Grizzy is a lot like that....he has a wisecrack for every occasion. And it's one of the things I love most about him: every man in my life before him made me cry. He made me laugh. He still does. Last Sunday the three of us were laughing over lunch and Betsy looked up and said "I think we must be the happiest family in the whole 'tire world!"

You know, I think the commercial I'm thinking about was for Fancy Feast cat food. I must be confusing her with someone else on the hair color ad.

Well, I know can make my wife laugh, though not always on purpose. Life is good.

Yes, she DID do those.
I thought it was kinda cool...that incredible voice promoting cat food, but the cat they used was also incredibly beautiful, and I swear, carried herself with the same panache that you-know-who does.
Remember the Catherine Deneuve commercials in about 1983 or 4 where she said 'this year I'll be 40...' promoting some sort of moisturizer? I was in my earliest twenties then and I remember thinking I was gonna buy a TRUCKLOAD of the stuff if it would make me look like THAT.
But I look at all the 'lollipops' today (the size 0 young actresses whose heads are the biggest things on those starved bodies, hence the term) and think they will never be so beautiful as older women. And I have to say I thought that loooooooooooong before I reached the age I am now.

Now, that's what I love most, is making Griz just burst into laughter--I love surprising him with some wiseacre comment, some pun, something he didn't expect...he always says, "Quick, quick, I like a clever girl."
He also, o-so-wisely, says that he is the lucky one because a lot of men have to choose between marrying brains OR looks...and he married BOTH.
Of course, then he usually follows it up with something like "THERE! THAT oughtta hold your li'l pea brain for a while."
He's also been known to say something and then look at me and say, "Did I say that OUT LOUD?"
(Inside joke. Family joke. On a birthday card his sister-in-law sent HIM many years ago.)

Just got home from work and scarfed down a plate of pasta and came to see what was going on in my absence. You just happened to pick two people I really like, is all. Now maybe if you'd chosen an old picture of someone I don't like....who knows. But now I have to go in search of something else, don't I....and hope I can remember how the heck I posted it last night....mostly what I remember was that it took me three tries!

Doesn't matter. Any ideas??

No guesses?
Well, Grizzy couldn't get it, either. And when I told him who it was, he said "NO WAY!"
I did search for the least recognizable shot of him I could find, I must confess.
