Hey, LOOKIT! Since there's not a lot happening right now I am making good on my threat, and putting up old posts from our old site, and this seems like the perfect thread for this one web.archive.org/web/20060106085424/http://prairiehome.forum.publicradio.org:80/article.pl?sid=05/03/10/2016231Here's some gems that particularly tickled my funny bone! So I bought these mustard greens. Also some collard greens. Now what? Pureed with cranberries? What recipes do you have for meeting these latest health dictates? Gee Jay, You make it sound like the old Hee Haw show. Hey Grandpa, what’s for supper? Well, we got wilted mustard greens, chicken feet soup and okra that’ll croak ya… hehe, most of this we would buy specially for our iguana in our house. Polk/Poke Salad isn't a "salad." It's just that particular leafy green itself. It will kill you if you don't prep it correctly. Or maybe it will just make you so sick that you wish you were dead. Blowfish... now we're talking my kind of food!

Blowfish... now we're talking my kind of food! I'm glad you steered us in this direction, but these way-back threads induce wistfulness for me. I miss the names, the miss the good conversations, I miss the camaraderie. I think things wouldn't have gotten out-of-hand for a certain someone in a public forum, either. Regrets, I've had a few, but then, too few to mention...

I resemble that, slb2. Wistfulness is exactly the right word. But that is OK, I'm glad we have the Wayback Machine to dip into when we feel like it.
And I wasn't even at the Chatterbox for very long, having joined in early 2006 when we signed up for the Alaska APHC cruise, then we got kicked off in September 2006. GK showed his true character. But so did Julia, doing her best by giving us a few hours of advance notice so we could salvage a bit.
I ruminate.
Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower, We will grieve not, rather find Strength in what remains behind.
Or perhaps,
Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
But we are still here, more than twelve years later! That is a good thing.
