There are always "cover bands" making the rounds. They get booked a lot up at the Orange Blossom Opry, in Weirsdale. The thing is, I've been finding a lot of new talent out there, mostly female, who are keeping the old, authentic sounds alive.

" but unlike the good old days, we just don't have a root cellar with the right temperature to maintain them for the long term. "
Maybe you could bury an old Chevey. Take out the seats first, and get the trunk accessible from the inside of the old car. That might make some storage. I'm sure someone has done it before; just wake up Google and see what you can turn up.

This is a very old show given the mention of people in their 60's desire to "live in a warm place." Especially when current weather reports show historical high temps, and even heat-related death reports are sure to follow, much higher in older folks.
Phooey, I dunno about these planes and portable electronics dangers. It was back in the Dinosaur Ages (when I was the only person on the plane with a cellphone), my cellphone rang at 38,000 feet somewhere over Montana. I didn't think that was possible. Nor did any "experts" because carrying a "live" cellphone wasn't prohibited and there wasn't even an "airplane mode" option on my phone back in those days.
I turned off the phone (no one recognized what had happened anyway), no more calls, plane continued uneventfully to Seattle

I made a keto lasagna tonight... with eggplant, onions, mushrooms, squash on the inside and a little beef meat balls on the side. Made my own sauce from tomatoes from my garden and some peppers and squash as well. The keto noodles came out ok, but I did not have any tapioca starch so had to substitute. Taste pretty good though as it came out. I have lost track of all these special diets. "Keto" is the one with no (or very few) carbs? So what is in those keto noodles? I limit my carbs but love bread way too much to eliminate carbs. However, even just aiming to keep them under 60 - 70 grams/meal two or three times a day has resulted in considerable weight loss and I wasn't even really trying to lose weight, just eat healthier and improve blood sugar. I don't understand why most people would want to eat more protein - the American diet is already very heavy in protein. The physiological requirement is usually only 1 - 2 grams protein/kg body weight. For the "average 70 kg person" (about 155 pounds) that would be only 1 - 2 ounces of protein per day. You get that much in a small hamburger! Keto noodles as I was going to make them contain two cups of fine almond flour and two cups of tapioca starch, eggs and some water to help get the consistency wanted. Since I had no tapioca starch, I reduced the recipe to just two cups of almond flour but added two tablespoons of xanthan gum, one egg and some water . After the dough ball rests, you try to roll or smooth it out to a thin consistancy to cut noodle strips or lasagna strips. I got the effect, just didn't imitate the thin lasagna style pasta ... but put into a veggie lasagna with lots of cheese and homegrown tomato sauce, it tasted fine. Keto does focus on reduction in carbs, and in extreme form takes carbs down to very few. Adding fat and protein is encouraged.. and some folks use supplements to get the body to go into ketosis sooner and stay there. I've watched carb intake for several years now, and although i did drop around 30 pounds, I could not keep losing as my body seems to get to a certain point and just establish a new norm. So either I have to increase calorie burning or somehow decrease caloric intake. Neither of those seem to be working for me at this moment. But I am rarely hungry, often don't even feel like having three meals a day.. I had a physical exercise guru tell me that to lose weight I needed to eat MORE to keep my body from reducing metabolism in response to too few calories.. it's a crazy thing ...

Estimated win tonight would be $875 million... minus taxes of course.. and less if you take lump sum versus the annual payments.

They are solo acts or varied configurations that include some of the original band members as well as perhaps some additions, including in some instances, now-adult children of band members. Lukas Nelson (son of Willie) and Promise of the Real (Lukas' band) opened formed the Stones in 2019 and was excellent then, tours now as headliners of their own shows too. Sometimes they are billed as "Willie and Family" too.

No, DW. I haven't taken a chance with the Lottery, I'm not a player. I have my vices, but gambling isn't one of them.

Thanks for the info on how you can make noodles without wheat flour. Gluten-free is big these days and I think there are many who are gluten-sensitive even if the do not have true celiac disease. But I guess still is some form of carb since cassava and similar are staples in many tropical climates - some protein in there, but those locales also have water and thus fish for their main complete protein source. Or they hunt.
Overweight and obesity are now being more recognized as metabolic disorders, not "just gluttony." It's becoming evident that individual metabolic systems vary from the scientific definition. I think both your stated concerns are true - one's body can set a new norm and one tends to maintain that new norm but it can be difficult to lose (or in some, to gain) beyond that new set point. And yes, your individual metabolic rate will lower in response to starvation - this is why people in the Third World who have access to only 600 - 800 calories/day of food do not all die quickly. They have malnutrition and its associated diseases but their metabolic rate adjusts to maintain function with fewer calories.
Fat is digested much more slowly that carbohydrate on average, protein is somewhat slower. So you will not feel hungry for quite a bit longer after a meal high in fat and protein compared to a high-carb, low-fat diet. Because I have reduced the carbs in my diet, I am eating more calories in fat, just by plain mathematics. One wonders about the overall nutritional impact of that given recent (but not too recent) emphasis on low-fat diets. And high protein diets can be hard on one's kidneys; those with kidney disease who seek to delay need for dialysis or kidney transplant will be placed on low-protein diet, with supplements as needed to meet basic nutritional requirements, but not more.
You're right - it's a crazy thing. Knowledge base in continuously changing too.

I'll do the NFL football pool at work, and will occasionally go in with a group if someone else brings up the topic and encourages it. Not something I seek out. And all those work-related trips I made to Las Vegas? Never even put a quarter in the slow machine. Just doesn't interest me. Now going to the shows? Yep, love all the shows there! Y'all have a good week.

I bought both a whole pineapple and a couple of mangoes at the grocery this week, let them ripen a bit more and cut them all up this morning. They are delicious and healthy. And we still have a small bag of Rainier cherries.
Lots of fresh fruit and berries - my favorite season! This is also one of my favorite things about visiting Ecuador - they have so many different fresh fruits and vegetables, all locally grown, so when you go to the market you can buy more than you can carry home for $5 or $10. Also fresh flowers by the arm loads.
