Breaking News:
"The Canadian Ladies' Hockey Team has apologized this morning for being seen drinking beer and smoking cigars on Olympic ice last night . . . for nearly thirty minutes."
Really! Ann just said that on The Today Show. With pictures.

I heard it on NPR before I'd even gotten out of bed, and believe me I was shocked. They said one underage girl had a beer! What is this world coming to? That singular moment in their lives was a time for quiet meditation and reflection.

We got trouble Right here in Vancouver! That begins with "V" And that rhymes with "C" And that stands for Cigar! My gawd, the next thing you know those wild Canadian hockey girls will be having sex orgies on the ice! Or even worse, they'll be having drunken sex orgies on the ice! Mike

"I think this thing's gone a little too far, Hell I only offered 'em a candy bar." (Wait! Better check with 'er chewing, I think she's in the middle of a bubble gum orgy.)
Above courtesy of Peter Paul and Mary.
Is anyone aware that the legal drinking age in British Columbia is 19? They probably weren't even really "under age." But I guess it makes a good headline.
I really liked that young Coloradan, Rachel Flatt. A 17 year-old high school senior who was worried about getting an assignment in on time from the Olympics! Plus she was planning for the prom and graduation, and in the middle of all that skated a flawless and energetic performance. Granted she wasn't quite as polished as the medal winners, and the Canadian woman who lost her mother 4 days ago sure tugged at everyone's heartstrings. But Rachel was so enthusiastic and such an energetic performer!

Kim Yu-Na is in a league of her own -- unbelievable! All the girls were great. What a show. I'm looking forward to the exhibition figure skating. That's always terrific fun.

Man, Mike! I'm hoping your lyric was pronounce "Seeee-Gar." {Stretching the musical notation, no doubt, but we are Used To That, eh?}
I did Not Know that you were a Right Here In River City fan.
Good One!

Mike I really liked the Canadian Gold dancing pair: He in the hockey jersey and she in the ballerina outfit. It looked like they really enjoyed their performance, too. Another surprise: I was completely unaware that they have Giant Inflatable Beavers up there. YIKES! I hope they stay in Canadia.
