"CopY" means Right Click. A drop down menu appears. Left Click on the word "Copy."
Come to this website and click "reply" so that you get here to the part where you post stuff.
Look at the second row of icons directly above the smiley faces. The fourth one from the left (the row starting with YouTube) is a tiny little picture. Click it.
In this white writing space, it will make this appear: {img}{/img} only with different brackets. That means "start image" and "stop image."
Put the cursor directly between the two inner brackets and left click to make the cursor go there.
Right click. The drop down menu will once again appear. Left click on "Paste." The URL will magically appear between the START and STOP pieces.
When you post pictures like this, you can click the preview button below, and see what you are posting before posting. UNLIKE using the browse button above on the attachment line. You can NOT click the preview button below. It will ruin the picture.

Thanks, bb. I'll give this a try later. This is very humbling, and I appreciate all of everyone's efforts, yours and gail's.
Working this morning checking hurricane panels and fittings outside. Nothing on the horizon but give it a couple weeks; August and September is prime. Kind of like a boat, once the wind starts blowing is no time to be doing preventive maintenance or running a checklist.

OK, I do all that, and it all goes well, until I come to the "paste" part--it is all pale and unavailable.

OK, I do all that, and it all goes well, until I come to the "paste" part--it is all pale and unavailable. Now, Jane. I'm cautiously optimistic. I keep getting a little farther every time. I'mna give this a whirl tomorrow. If nothing else, I'll attach them to an e-mail and have one of our sorceresses here post them. Oh, wait a minute, I've never attached a picture to an e-mail either..... If nothing else, I'll print pictures and we'll just mail them around! One way or the other!

I got it! I freakin' got it! Oh man, I think I'm gonna make a big mess of happiness right here in my chair! Here's Garrison and Andra Suchy, warming up the crowd before the Tanglewood show.

Excellent work, Jay! Too bad GK looks like a Frankenstein clone, but that's not your fault. (Nor his - I being the queen of unphotogenic.)
Why can't Jane copy? I can't face going back through all of this (and another thread, too?) but doesn't everyone have a taskbar or command bar with a "copy" icon? You don't have to get a right click menu, just use the same copy/past icons you would use if you were copying a poem to share.

click to add title ok cancel edit | move | share | delete | Smokeys040.jpg Share Email & IM Direct Link HTML Code IMG Code Link options Obviously, I'm going to have to learn how to get these photos smaller, either downsize on the photo hosting site or reset my camera. Baaaaaaabe! But I made it this far! So, Jane where are you trying to bring your photos from? I'm using Photobucket and that looks kind of like their menu at the side of the individual pic. When I have the photo selected Right click/Highlight "Direct Link", the little window with the code turns blue and a little window thing says "copied". I don't have to run my cursor the whole length of the address as gail suggested. At that point I'm done with the photo host. (I'm doing this on my little Asus, it has the Windows XP in it. Maybe a difference in operating programs? I don't have any copy icons up on my task bar, gail. I had to find one and add it, but then when I bring up the PC reply page to post, the copy icon dims out and I can't use it. Beats me.) Next is when I go to the PC reply page. Do the photo icon and put your cursor in the middle as bb said. That's when the address appears. Then I don't preview, just go directly to "post", and it worked! Sweet day in the morning it worked! There are rockets going off over Jensen Beach; if it weren't so buggy I'd be outside doing a naked pagan happy dance! If there was a cigarette in the house I'd be lighting up right now, it feels that good. Thanks again, folks, for all the help.

YeeeeeHaw! Holy Criminetly! Good Job, Jay!
How cool is that?!?!?! Great photos. It is easiest to change the setting on you camera for smaller pictures. It seems to me that 640 is in that sizing.

I used to think I knew what I was doing, but now I'm lost. There must be 100 ways to do this and also to mess it up. Jane has sent some pics to me in hopes I can post them, which I've promised to try tomorrow. If not I'll send them to Jay because [glow=red,2,300]JAY ROCKS!!!!![/glow]

Thanks again, gail and bb, for the helping hands to drag me up, doc for the little pokes. Stick with it, Jane, this sense of accomplishment feels good, 'specially because I didn't do it alone. Evidently you know how to mail photos and/or attachments, which I don't, and being a writer I bet you know all about setting stuff up on "Word". Another reason for us all to stay in touch, people. Together we're greater than the sum of our parts.

Honestly, Jay! I am so pleased with your sticktoitiveness.
I have never posted pictures from photobucket the way you described. So clearly, there are many ways to skin a cat . . . figuratively, of course.

We are indeed, Jay, in many ways. We'll save each other from being left in the dust by the techies and we'll cushion each other from life's blows as we age. Too bad we can't buy a house like Frost's and live in it together. We'd all turn into the poets we're meant to be! I'm so glad you got such a good shot of the top-hatted guy: he's beyond description. Here's my first try at one of Jane's pics. This is daughter Elizabeth's crew, which I think includes Anna, Ben, Tom and baby Sam.

Wow!! The picture in the swimming pool is perfect! What composition and of course, great subjects. Henry looks like hugging Gramma Jane is something he is wont to do! Good job, gk. So, did you just momentarily forget how clever you are?

Thank you, gk! I'm going to keep trying and go back and look at everyone's instructions.
Yes, the picture in the pool is one of Elisabeth's children: Benjamin, Thomas, Anna Jane and Baby Sam.
The other is my other daughter's (Annie) husband's parents and me and Bill. I'm the one with Henry. My husband is right behind me.
Cute kids, huh? (We don't know why Ben looks Lebanese. It's a mystery.)
