True, sort of. Only if I could be a teen in bygone, simpler days. Today's teens just make me shudder. Including my own, sometimes.
The person under me has not had a haircut in almost two years. (Amazing how long it gets in that time....)

Oh, no. No, a thousand times no. I was depressed, terminally shy, awkward, and, in general, a twit. I would like the skinny, pain-free body back, but not the mind or the circumstances.
the PUM has absolutely no concrete plans for the day

False. Going to symphony this evening (in the bitter cold) and need to take a nap this p.m. so I won't drowse during the concert. It's all Beethoven, and I don't want to miss a note. The person under me will attend a live musical or theatrical performance this evening.

Beethoven lover has no concrete plans and got a haircut a month ago. The long hair is gone forever, as summers heat up to sizzling.
The PUM remembers the rush of getting tall enough to move the needle on the Philco.

Philco. Hmmmm, no. We didn't have one of those with a needle. However, I do remember getting tall enough to push a button on the huge stand-up radio and then sitting on the floor in front of the cloth-covered speakers to listen. I don't remember the maker of that radio. We were a little behind in Montana.
The PUM successfully finished (mostly) at least one project today.

Nope. I just start projects. Your radio might have had a top that opened up to the turntable and you just never knew it was there! Otherwise, it sounds exactly like the Philco,
The PUM remembers radio soaps, "The Shadow," and "Sergeant Preston." Other radio memories welcome.

My grandma always used to listen to "Helen Trent" on the radio.
We had one of the first TVs in the neighborhood, and I remember the girl next door always came over to watch Hopalong Cassidy. I thought it was boring. I'm taking her to lunch tomorrow; maybe we can remember Hopalong together.
The person under me is Irish. (My great-great grandmother Mary O'Malley came here from Sligo. And my great-great grandfather on my father's side, Riley Tinney, came from Donegal. Now I have a niece named Riley Tinney.)

Half true. (True for mother's side). The only ancestors whose place of origin within Ireland I know are James and Ann (McKenna) White from Donagh parish in County Monaghan.
The person under me never drinks green beer on St. Patrick's Day, but has indulged in a Guinness Stout on occasion.

That is So TRUE. I have never, and will never, drink green beer on St. Paddy's Day. But I will be wearing my shamrock earrings and lapel pin. The person under me has some Irish back there somewhere.

O'Hares and Corcorans . My mother had some, too, but I forget the name.
The PUM would drink green wine if offered some. Sparkling green Riesling!

Yes. Yes she would.
The person under me is watching the Army Wives finale, and remembering...

Nope, she's not. But I could be if I knew what that was. Remembering is always comforting. Instead, I am watching the incredibly beautiful full moon sink below the tops of the Olympic Mountains just before dawn.
The person under me is searching for some appropriate green to wear this fine St. Patrick's Day.

Nope - thought about it, but why bother for the dentist's office? Our parade starts at noon, and I saw many green painted and decked out people slipping along in the freezing rain. No incredibly beautiful moon sinking over mountain tops for us. The PUM actually likes cooked cabbage.

True! I eat it far more often than once a day for St. Paddy's. But I'm really picky about HOW it is cooked (and how long.)
The person under me is standing firm with a passively defiant Teen.

False, thank goodness! I've glad I'm not there anymore, and wish you well, Gracie.
The person under me has to attend an early morning webinar.
