Thanks for bringing this back up, Gail. I haven't checked for a long while, either.

I bet it came up in some of the notes, but I never knew. My PC has been so slow i don't have the patience to look through all the posts. Our zoo had two Amur tiger cubs born (one didn't make it) and supposedly have a web ccam, but I haven't seen it function yet. When they get it up and running I'll post that link, too.

Now the webcam is up and working. I can see that the cub is strolling around. I wonder if he purrs if you scratch behind his ears?

As reported by the Bear Guy on the show yesterday, 3-year old black bear Jewel is in labor. Apparently they give birth while hibernating. He said she should deliver this afternoon. Here is the link: www.bear.org/livecams/jewel-den-cam.phpThis weekend, Garrison reminded me of the Bear Cams, and how fun it was to watch Jewel give birth last year. I looked up this thread, and the headline reads, "Four-year-old Jewel is sharing a dug den with her year-old cubs Fern and Herbie, born on January 22, 2012." No mention of new cubs on the way. It's all pretty quiet in the den.

But there are several dens. I think Lily has new cubs. Fern and Herbie still bully Jewel into letting them nurse. I'll find some utube links so you can catch up on all the critters.

Much action in Lily's den - little cubs very visible, and Lily breaks off the icicles to crunch up for water. This makes the den more visible and the noise of the crunching is l.o.u.d.
This is 10 mins - icicle action starts about 4 mins in, but little cubs are poking their noses out from the beginning.

The address for the bears has changed. Here you go: www.bear.org/website/It's a little early, but somebody is going to be in labor sometime.
